Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I was just looking through the member list and started thinking about how people have designated their scrren name.  We have our first names and our dogs names.  This way it kind of lets you know a little about us.  Some people just list their name and some have names like "so and so's Mom" , etc.

How did you make up your screen name and why?

I started out as just "Karen", back in 2008. Adina suggested to me that it might be a good idea to add something that would differentiate me from the many other Karens, lol. So I became "Karen & Jack". I've used "Jackdoodle" and "Jackdoodle & Me" on other forums, but it's hard for other people to address you when they only know your dog's name and not yours.

When I joined DK I had no idea I would become an addict so I didn't put any thought into a name, just used the kiss principle. If I had thought about it maybe I could have come up with something a little catchier. I like the people name and the dogs name, it helps keep people straight in my head. I have noticed that when the dogs name is first the person often gets called by the dog's name. I think I may have done that a time or two myself.

I am Jack's mom for everything and anything I can be related to dogs. Anything professional and I don't use his name, such as my email or things like that. I also have Jackdoodle's mom on a few other places but I don't use that here since the original Jackdoodle is on here and I have so many different names I call Jack.
Very unoriginal for me....just my name and my dog's names :)

When I first joined DK it was just Tina, then Tina Clover's Mom and now Tina & Clover.  Once I started reading all the comments I found it easier to identify others when owner and doodle(s) names are listed, so I changed mine to make it easier for others.

One post from the first week I was a member was from Adina asking that people clarify their names.  To many one named users and at that time there were 2000 members.  It was beginning to become confusing.  I did change my name that week...and later added another  wonderful doodle to our title.
First name and dogs name(s) seems to be the favorite screen name and it helps keep me straight as to who belongs to whom.
Okay... confession (since the world didn't end today - duh)... I used "Shelly" because I didn't want anyone to 'know' it was me... like anyone I know would have even gone on here, and if they DID they must be nuts over their dog too... Actually, only my dad and a few close friends call me "Shelly" - to everyone else I'm "Rochelle".  But maybe it was a weird omen - now you all know me as Shelly, so I guess I can add a 'few' more to my 'good friend list'... BUT alas... as luck would have it - one of my friends actually DID find me on here -ALI & SONNY - we work together and live in the same town and she's also really good friends with my sister (right, Ali?)  Small world!  That'll show me to try and be incognito!  LOL
Yeah - I do like both - I think there is another Shelly on here too....
I've been on other discussion boards where I have had a really creative name, but there is something about being a doodle mom (almost at least) that seems so personal. When my boys were little if I were on a board for moms I would do the same thing we do here: something with your own name and your baby's. At first I didn't realize I was creating a screen name and I had my first and last. I don't like to do that on general principles, yet I don't know if I am getting a boy or girl. So in a few weeks I will be changing my name to either Julie and Murphy or Julie and Bailey (although the girl name may change, but we are hooked on Murphy for a boy name)
Well we started out as Rosey & Bandit  but people started calling me Rosey and since I could never live up to her standards I added my name first.  I like when people include their name and dog name(s) for memory sake!

When I joined it seemed that many others had their first name and then their dood's name.  I just followed suit. I like it because you can address me in a post but you also know my dood's names - I had to change mine when I added Clancy to my pack.  I definitely didn't want to put my last name - it just seemed invasive of my privacy.

Shelly you could become Shelly and Tori and we would still love you.

Those of you who have different names on different forums, how do you keep it straight?  I have signed up for some different things and can't even remember if I put my real first and last name, first initial and last name, dk name or......
