Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

At last my journey of getting a Doodle is ending.  Tomorrow afternoon my beautiful Bocelli is FINALLY coming home!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am so excited I can hardly stand it.....I've been like a cat on a hot tin roof the last couple of days and just so anxious with anticipation.  You would think I've never had a dog before but this time it's different.  Bocelli represents more to me than just a dog.  He's a new beginning for me, a new companion, a starting over, a little man who will love me unconditionally and who will always be by my side.  I want to cry just thinking about it!!!  Since my husband left me in October 2008 after 39 years of marriage I have been on a very long personal journey, one that has had many, many tears, ups and downs,  but also one that has taught me a lot about myself too.  I am SO READY to start this next chapter and what better way than with this beautiful, furry creature who will always have his little chocolate tail wagging when his mommy comes home. Priceless :-))

Please pray for me and send good vibrations this way.  Since Bo is 11 weeks old and has already really bonded to the breeders (husband and wife), his adjustment to me and my home may take a little longer.  I hope not but I'm bracing myself for it just the same. He's really a very sweet natured boy but I've seen how he acts with the husband, following him around and the husband giving Bo lots of love and affection.

Again, I want to thank each and every one of you who have really helped to prepare me with all of the pearls of wisdom you have shared on this forum.  I truly don't know if I could have done this without all that you've shared.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I'll try to post tomorrow and send some pictures of my little man.

How exciting for you!!!
Connie, I am sending all my love, lots of Irish luck and  best wishes for many years of happiness ahead for you.  I will be thinking about you all day tomorrow.  I am really looking forward to hearing about your journey home and seeing all your photographs.   Prayers and positive vibes heading your way!! X

This is so exciting - what a wonderful new chapter in your life. Even though Bocelli is 11 weeks old, he will quickly, quickly bond to you. I got my chihuahua Taquito at 7 months old - he had lived with his siblings since the beginning and I was worried. Let's just say he was my best buddy within the first few hours - no kidding!  He loved the 1:1 attention and is still my best bud (no offense to doodle sister Peri lol).

Congrats!!!!

So exciting!  What a wonderful weekend for you!
This is so exciting, I can't wait to hear about his first day home and see pictures!
Little Boccelli is the most adorable little thing. so cute. I can't wait to hear all about him. I got my puppy a few months ago and she has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. They make wonderful loving companions. She makes me so happy, each day I rush home to see her. I'm so happy for you!
Good luck!
YAYYYYYY!!! SO exciting!!!!!
Congrats and I can't WAIT to hear the homecoming story and see pictures!!

Just FYI- my baby doodle was 13 weeks when we got her, I was afraid she would not bond with us...it took a matter of a couple of hours and she was all "ours". She's so attached to us, we call her a "dog snob" she wants nothing to do with other humans or other dogs for that matter. So no worries...I think dogs are born knowing who their true person is ;-)
{{{HUGS}}}} Connie!!!!!  Enjoy every single second and tell us all about his first day with his new mommy :-)
Here's to a new beginning for you starting tomorrow! I can feel your excitement and remember how I felt about 15 months ago! My puppy was nearly eleven weeks old and was delivered to the airport by his breeder -- a large man. Knox stayed close to him for about five minutes and then he was ALL mine and hasn't left my side since! Can't wait to see more pics of him!
Connie - we left Rooney (it was really hard to do) with his breeder till he was 11.5 weeks for training.  Bocelli will not remember the husband by the time you pull into the driveway of your home!!!!  He will be looking to you for 100% of everything including snuggles and loves while he explores his new digs.  Relax and enjoy - I promise you - he'll be bonded to you with no trouble at all.  Rooney loved his breeder and when we went back for a doodle day a couple of months later - he didn't pay her any mind at all, but he didn't let me out of his site.  Can't wait to see tons of pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Rooney sends you a big lick.
I am so excited for you.  Definitely need some first day pics.
