Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I've searched through all of the old discussions about which dog food is best and have gone through all of the best dog food formula websites as well. However, after recently hearing about the Canidae formula change, I'm second guessing going with their ALS formula for our new puppy. (Does anyone still like Candiae?) SO, please post the name of other dog foods (JUST THE NAME!) that you recommend. I'd like to research specific brands and it would be easier if I just had a simple list that I could bring with me on our search. Thanks!

Natura Products ~ California Natural, Innova, Innova EVO
Orijen 6 Fish
Chicken Soup for the Large Breed Dogs Soul
Merrick Wilderness and Cowboy cookout.
ProPlan
IVET
BARF Diet - (basic row food) not a rec just a warning. If you have small children, the poop will almost certainly have salmonella in it. Be very very careful. My vet almost had a stroke when I even mentioned it and my children are long grown. It can also remain on their whiskers, paws etc. My dogs breeder has two small children and feeds the Barf diet to their whole crew of house dogs and has had no problems Still....
I am sorry, I do not know what website I got this from.

It is now up to you to make a decision on what to do about you and your furry friend and their nutrition. There is another world in home cooked meals, and yet another in raw. But neither subject am I very versed in, so I hope someone else will step up to either challenge. Dog food is a confusing world, but I hope you have read enough to at least get a grip on where to begin.

Could you let us all know which kibble you decide on and why Thanks
I originally was going to go with Canidae ALS (since we have 2 dogs) and after researching and seeing that some/most(?) are still happy with it, I think I'm going to stay with my original choice. I know they changed factories, but I'm assuming since they had one recall already in this factory...it might make it safer compared to if they NEVER had a problem or recall. *shrugs* I'm going to talk to my vet about it as well...
Kirkland Lamb, rice and veggies
