Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I've had my beautiful boy Bocelli for 9 days now.  The time has gone by quickly.  Today we went to our local pet boutique to buy him a Thundershirt as he is extremely anxious in the car.  While we were there, I decided to weigh him on their pet scale.  Oh my goodness.....my not-so-little man put on another 1.5 pounds in just 6 days!!  He's now 17.2 pounds and he's just 12 weeks old!! I know the rule of thumb is 2 times their weight at 4 months plus 10 pounds.  Does anybody here have a Doodle who was 17 pounds at 12 weeks and if so, how big did they get at their adult weight?

He's such a wonderful puppy in every way.  And it really doesn't matter to me if he's big.  I was expecting a 40 pounder but at the rate he's going, I'll bet he tops out over 60 pounds.  He'll be my gentle giant!!

You will love every pound and ounce of him too!!!  There will be so much more to hug and love.  My Gracie Doodle is a big girl and I wouldn't have it any other way.  She is 70-75 lbs and very tall at 4 years old!
Our first doodle is 90 pounds and we were hoping to get another big boy but the second will probably not exceed 75. Love my big boys! We swore we could tell Kona was growing overnight. We would wake in the morning to a bigger puppy! Bo is soooo cute!
more doodle to love! I know he is bigger than SB was at that age, and she will likely be around 50-60lbs.

Don't forget that you weighed him on a different scale the other time and they are not necessarily the same--so, maybe he didn't gain all that weight in a week, but just weighed a different amount on a different scale.

He will probably weigh 25 pounds at 16 weeks (my pup weighed 21 pounds at 16 weeks and he was  about 12 pounds at 12 weeks.) I am guessing that my pup will weigh 40-45 pounds. The rule I have heard is 2 months times two plus OR MINUS 10 pounds.

They really grow at different rates and you should look at the parents' weights to get the best idea of his final size.

If that is the rule, it definitely did not apply to Huff, he weighed 15 pounds at 2 months which would mean he would be anywhere between 20-40 lbs. He is actually 82 pounds. Did I mess up the equation or am I right?
Charlie was 19.7lb @ 15wks, 22.3 lb @ 16 wks. But she never got any bigger since she was 7 ~ 8 months old, and she is still just about 42 lb.....http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/puppymadness/forum/topics/weight-...   This discussion has bunch of other puppies weight and it comparison.
Darwin was 16lbs at 12 weeks, 25 lbs at 16 weeks, and is now 64lbs at just over 2 years old.
If it makes you feel any better Rosco was 30 lbs at 12 weeks =)  So Bocelli will NOT be 90 lbs!!
Hope I didn't scare you. Just love my big doodles. I don't know how much either dog weighed as they grew.
OMD, 30lbs at 12 weeks? That is shocking
WOW! Not even Huff was that big! I don't remember how much he was at 12 weeks but 30 pounds?! I love it, cute chubby puppies!:)
Oh my stars....30 lbs at 12 weeks??  Now THAT'S a hunka hunka burning love!!  Way to go Rosco :-))
