Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I've had my beautiful boy Bocelli for 9 days now. The time has gone by quickly. Today we went to our local pet boutique to buy him a Thundershirt as he is extremely anxious in the car. While we were there, I decided to weigh him on their pet scale. Oh my goodness.....my not-so-little man put on another 1.5 pounds in just 6 days!! He's now 17.2 pounds and he's just 12 weeks old!! I know the rule of thumb is 2 times their weight at 4 months plus 10 pounds. Does anybody here have a Doodle who was 17 pounds at 12 weeks and if so, how big did they get at their adult weight?
He's such a wonderful puppy in every way. And it really doesn't matter to me if he's big. I was expecting a 40 pounder but at the rate he's going, I'll bet he tops out over 60 pounds. He'll be my gentle giant!!

Don't forget that you weighed him on a different scale the other time and they are not necessarily the same--so, maybe he didn't gain all that weight in a week, but just weighed a different amount on a different scale.
He will probably weigh 25 pounds at 16 weeks (my pup weighed 21 pounds at 16 weeks and he was about 12 pounds at 12 weeks.) I am guessing that my pup will weigh 40-45 pounds. The rule I have heard is 2 months times two plus OR MINUS 10 pounds.
They really grow at different rates and you should look at the parents' weights to get the best idea of his final size.
