Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I've had my beautiful boy Bocelli for 9 days now.  The time has gone by quickly.  Today we went to our local pet boutique to buy him a Thundershirt as he is extremely anxious in the car.  While we were there, I decided to weigh him on their pet scale.  Oh my goodness.....my not-so-little man put on another 1.5 pounds in just 6 days!!  He's now 17.2 pounds and he's just 12 weeks old!! I know the rule of thumb is 2 times their weight at 4 months plus 10 pounds.  Does anybody here have a Doodle who was 17 pounds at 12 weeks and if so, how big did they get at their adult weight?

He's such a wonderful puppy in every way.  And it really doesn't matter to me if he's big.  I was expecting a 40 pounder but at the rate he's going, I'll bet he tops out over 60 pounds.  He'll be my gentle giant!!

Bella was 20 pounds @ 12 weeks, 34pds @ 16 weeks, 46 pds @ 6 months and is 58 pds today at the vet.

Murphy was 30 pds by 16 weeks and at 2.5 yrs old he stays right around 62-65 pds. and has for about a year now.

The 16 weeks x 2 +/- 10 pds formula has worked for me and just about every doodle I know and I know a LOT of doodles. I have never heard of the 2 months +/- 10 pds. If that were true both mine would be only 25-30 pd doodles!!

Sasha was 25.8lbs. at 12 weeks...34lbs. at 16 weeks and is now approximately 75lbs..

She is due to go for her two year check up soon...so I'll know her exact weight then.

I Just Love Big Doodles!!

So great to cuddle up with and so much Doodle to love and love you back...

Connie - I'm laughing as I read this - I'm going to be in the same boat I think.  I get Stuart in a couple of hours and at 8 weeks I'm excited to see his size.  He is NOT going to be a medium doodle like they said but that is o.k.  Bo is going to be big and I can't wait to see more pictures of him.
Jane, I'll be anxious to see Stuart grow up too.  It's funny because I was really never interested in getting a huge dog but Bo has changed my mind on THAT nonsense. He's a perfect dog in every way and the best dog I've ever had.  I only wish I had a back yard that he can run and play in.  But I guess I'm going to have to go into hock to take him to doggie daycare a couple of days a week so he can run and play and work out all that big dog energy. But this boy is worth every penny!!
More to love! He's so sweet!

Trixie was 16# at 12 weeks.  At 19 weeks she is 31#

She has slowed down alot since her 17 week mark.

I still think she will end up smaller then I expected ( I was expecting 55-65#)...but only time will tell : )

I know what you mean....Finnegan was 11 lbs. when we brought him home 3 weeks ago. He was 12 weeks old on the weekend and he weighed in at 21 lbs. at the vets!!!
I don't have Sedona's growth records in front of me, but I do know two things - in the first few months, she literally and visibly grew overnight and her growth rate was uneven. Some weeks she grew a lot, other weeks not much growth at all.
He does sound like he will be on the large side, but don't worry about that.  Bigger really is better.  THe two times the  weight at 16 weeks, plus 5-10 pounds has  been very accurate with my doods and my first doodle was 105 pounds.  He was absolutely the best dog I have ever had.  It will be interesting to see what turns out for Bo.  By the way, the Heavyweights group is for doodles over 65 pounds.  Check it out.

Cooper was 30 pounds at four months and so full of love and ENERGY.  Now at four years old he is 70 lbs of love and ENERGY.  I would not have him any other way.  I would really like to have another one just his size~~~

at 12 weeks, Caeleach weighed 18 lbs and at 3 1/2 yrs, weighs 55 lbs.  CJ weighed 16 lbs at 12 weeks and now weighs 91.  go figure! LOL
