I don't know if anyone saw Dr Oz today but I have lost some respect for him. He had a segment on Animal Health and I guess they have a new part on their website for this too. But....he is promoting Pedigree!! I almost gagged watching this vet say how good and healthy it is. The funny part was when they put a huge bowl of food in front of an overweight bulldog he sniffed but wouldn't eat it!!!!!
I'm sure Pedigree is one of his sponsors but maybe we all need to send a "shame on you" email to Dr Oz. Doodle owners unite!!!!!!

OMG! Pedigree? Someone needs to send him this video:
And Susan doesn't go nearly far enough. She doesn't mention the unnamed animal fat as the 4th most abundant ingredient in this food, which is a risk factor for bloat, in addition to the fact that the source is questionable, and the fact that it is preserved with BHA, a known carcinogen, plus citric acid, which is another risk factor for bloat.
Shame on Dr. Oz!
It's really sad b/c people look up to Dr. Oz and will think that what he says in the gospel. I didn't know for a long time that the big name brand dog foods were actually the worst food, and I'm sure most people are the same way.
This should probably be a lesson to us about non-dog food too! When shows promote dog food or things specific for humans, there is likely a sponsorship going on and not real science. Luckily we know enough about dog food and nutrition to know that this is total crap, and we should keep this in mind for other advice people spout on TV.
Susan has a good link to write to Dr Oz. Maybe we should all do this. I plan to.
I actually like Dr Oz. He has good suggestions but like anything you take the information given and use what you can to benefit YOU.
