A Homely Doodle?

Is there such a thing?  I mean everyone thinks that their own children are cute but lets be real - sometimes you just see an ugly baby and of course the parents haven't got a clue.  So couldn't that be the case with doodles too?  Would you admit it if you thought your dood was homely?  I just did some up close looking at some of the 14 week old litter pups that came out of the same puppy mill as Stuart and I just hate to say it but they are not cute, at all.  So now I'm wondering if that is what Stuart might start to look like and of course I would still love him but I would have to admit that he wasn't "Quincy" in the least.

Beauty is only fur deep. They have such sweet personalities and are so loving. I love mine just for being themselves.

There is no way that a cutie pie like Stuart is going to "turn" homely!  He's got "the look" - I can just tell!!!

I think they're all adorable....actually I kind of think all dogs are.  We went to an adoption event yesterday, and there were 40 mixed breed puppies that just arrived from puppy mills in the South.  There were some very strange breed "combos" but I thought they were all pretty cute....well all except the GSD mix who tried to bite me.  With some of them it was just that they were "so funny looking they were cute".

Too funny!  I actually have seen a couple of "homely" doodles...but they are so odd looking they are cute, and they have awesome personalities, so that helps.  I feel bad tho, cause mine are so beautiful...hahaha!

This is funny Jane as I know what you mean. I work in a Women and Infants unit and I see an average of 400 newborn babies a month. Some of them I just can't help but exclaim " OH My, what a BEAUTIFUL baby!" And other times I just have to hold my tongue and say, " OH My, WHAT a baby!"  Very different meanings! SO my secret is out and I hope no=one delivers at my hospital from DK and I say that to them.

Sue I had to laugh when I read this, I work in a childrens's hospital and have seen my share of "Oh my what a baby" situations. My son is adopted and although I never admitted it before, I wondered what I would do if they passed me a truly ugly baby! They didn't. He was once compared to a Volkswagon with the doors open. This was from my husband's boss, so I just told him if he didn't make fun of Mark's ears I wouldn't make fun of his Jimmy Durante nose. Mark grew into his ears, he still had that nose.

THIS IS FUNNNNNY!  I was a bit upset when we first saw a picture of Tori... I thought she would be all fluffy, but she wasn't and I worried that she would not get that doodle 'look'.. but she did!  But sometimes when she first gets groomed and her nose and around her eyes get trimmed.. I think she looks like a gorilla!  Actually....This reminds me of when I look back at my oldest son who was 5 weeks premature.... and UGLY!  He looked like a little old man with a very pointy cone head... it was right about the time the movie "Coneheads" came out and EVERYONE commented on it... he wore many hats... IN JULY AND AUGUST!   So he WAS a "Oh waht a baby" baby!  But now he's "Oh what a handsome young man, baby" ..... LOL

Actually, Im a little nervous as I'm collecting my puppy in ten days and I have only seen a couple of pictures. The breeder isn't that great with the camera so I've kindly told her I don't need any more photo's.  Looking at some of the pictures it's really hard to tell and puppies go through so many changes.  I am just crossing my fingers, toes and everything else I've got that Riley will be a Top Dog and a really good looking fellow.

Porter's cuteness and even beauty gets comments from passers by and people in cars.  BUT he looks pretty godawful in pics. 

Seriously, in person/dog, he is a fuzzy brownish-greyish black bear with a sunny disposition.  In photos, he looks pretty darn homely.

Jane, I don't know what makes you think that Stuart isn't going to be cute, he is just beautiful, and such a sweet face...You just wait and see, he will be just gorgeous....When you walk both Rooney and Stuart, people are going to stop you and tell you what gorgeous dogs they are...I think Stuart is just adorable.  He looks a lot like Oliver when he was a little one...And Oliver turned out just beautiful, lol, I am his Mom, but I think he is just gorgeous, lol, and people tell us that all the time...Rooney is beautiful too, and u just wait and see Stuart will be one beautiful dood....Hugs to all of you...
