what a wonderful anniversary gift!!! Our puppy was born early this morning!!

We are so excited!! The litter was due tomorrow but came this morning. mother and her 9 males and 2 girls are all doing great. I had my heart set on a girl and we are #5 pick so we will see what happens. I know we could love a boy as much.

Just to let you know, I had MY heart set on a BOY, but Peri's litter was 2 boys, 4 girls, so I ended up with a girl and it has worked out well.  In my honest opinion, I am a huge fan of male dogs.  Grew up with 5, have a male chihuahua, Peri is my first girl.  You will be happy with either, trust me :)

Congrats! Let personality win over everything else. I thought for sure we were getting another boy, because we love Hudson so much, but when we went to pick out our puppy, we ended up picking out a girl, all based on personality. I even liked the coat on the boys more, but there was just something about the little girl's (now Lily :) calm nature that we were drawn to. I don't think it really matters boy or girl, as much as individual personality/temperment.

You will get the right dog for you for sure.  I have my puppy only two days so far.  I had no preference and now have a Chocolate Boy.  Our lives have been turned upside down.  I don't think my house will ever look tidy again!  We are so totally in love with Riley.  The wait until you get your puppy home will seem like an eternity but it is so worth it.  I wish you the very best of luck and look forward to seeing your new puppy.  Many congratulations.

We were dead last on the wait list for our puppy, so we figured we'd get "whatever was left over" - but we were okay with that.  On the day of the first meeting of the pups, we were supposed to prioritize them as to our personal preferences.  We played with the puppies and I had my husband record our top four choices.  Just as our hour was about to end, Puppy #2, who'd been asleep near the edge of the pen, woke up and wandered over to me.  She was SOOOO sweet that I had my husband add her to the top of our priority list.  We left the breeder's still assuming that our prioritizing was pretty much an effort in futility given our spot on the wait list.  Two days later, we got a call from the breeder - we'd gotten our first choice!  Puppy #2 (aka Sedona) was ours.  We figure she slept through so many of the visits that no one knew to put her on their list!!!  Lucky us!!!!
