Fireworks in the Garden

Every year around this time, I'm struck by the way some of my perennials seem to put on their own fireworks show. I know that many actual fireworks displays are named for flowers, and at this time of the year, I can see why.

Here are a couple of photos I took last year around the 4th of July.

Thank you. This is actually my front yard, looking toward the neighbor's house; I inherited this huge, overgrown bed of perennials, all jumbled and tangled together. There is almost always something blooming.

You have some lovely fireworks. My garden tends not to have reds but the daylilies are starting and the daisies. So after a small, relative lull things are picking up and I must take some pictures. I have an opportunity to go to a NY rooftop, some friends have a view of Macy's fireworks I just found out, but I'm really vacillating about it. And the doodles would be home alone--hmmm.

wow...those really do look like fireworks...none here...just all agapanthas all the same color!!

No fireworks but lots of water works, it just won't stop raining. :<( On the bright side everything is lush and green.

They do look like fireworks.  Nothing in my yard resembles fireworks.  Unless river rocks and cedar mulch look like fireworks to some people.

Gorgeous! My perennial geraniums (Cranesbill) have already had their first bloom and faded. Daylilies are blooming, and hydrangeas are just starting. Black-eyed Susans are always much later, and I seem to have lost my daisies this year. :(

My daisies have multiplied like my rabbits! I'll send you some : ) Some of my geraniums are done for now but others are just starting. Most of mine rebloom somewhat.
