Wordpress has lots of how to videos, I think they are the best and it's all free.  Find a young techy person ( I use my nephew) for when you need help.  That's how I started.  When I got stuck I trawled the net for answers and asked around. The best way is just to start and learn as you go along.

The good thing about blogging is that you just do what you want when you want, eventually you get faster and more proficient and you find your own writing voice.  I do it as an addition to my business as it helps raise my profile.  You need to start with some idea of what you want to say.  The rest will follow.

As I mentioned before, I was thinking of blogging.  After all of your encouragement and some great advice, I am officially now a blogger.  I decided to do my own domain and have it hosted.  So, the first challenge was to pick a domain name...I got lots of suggestions and ideas, and ended up picking www.lifewithrua.com .  I also did two others for future use.  Then, the hosting part...I decided to use WordPress, again after recommendation, and was going to go with www.bellessentials.com (Linda's daughter) but then remembered that my brother might do something like that.  I contacted him, and sure enought, he did website hosting.  He helped me get WordPress setup, and has helped me get a gallery (would like a different one, but if I waited until I found the perfect one no one would ever see my blog) and I did a favicon!  (I think that DK should do one with the new logo!)

 

I just posted my second blog on July 27th (Rua's first birthday) and have a few ideas for others.  I am not a writer, so it is a struggle for me, but I know this will help exercise my right brain and allow me to share about Rua without worrying about hijacking conversations.

Thank you for the kind words, Linda!  It is perfect for that theme, isn't it.  Actually, I didn't even look through the themes.  It was the first one available, and while I don't like the font style (which I think I can change if I really looked into the style sheets and knew what I was doing), I just knew I had to have that picture there.  Thanks for putting my like on your page.  I am working on getting Rua's head grooming down before I start taking pictures.  I need to work on her beard more (it is crooked) and I need her poofer to stand up a bit more.  She is getting pretty good at letting me scissor cut her body, but when I try to do her eyes or face, she pulls away.  For the eyes I am using blunt, rounded scissors, but for the beard, they are SHARP!
