Size of Ex-Pen for puppy who will be 60lbs

How big an ex-pen should I order for my puppy who may be 60 pounds?  Any suggestions appreciated

I would think the 42 high with an entry door would be the best. The entry door is great whent the pen is too tall to reach into or the puppy is too heavy to lift.

Big, big, BIG!  Even the biggest one won't hold him at 60 lbs.  You can really only use them for about 4-5 months.  After that they will either jump them or barrel through them. :o)  They are WONDERFUL for those first few months though!

I loved my ex-pen.  It didn't need to be very high, obviously, since Rua is a mini.  This is her at about 3-1/2 months.  Mine was 4' x 4' and 30" with a door.  I put down a blue poly tarp and then a blanket.  After having to wash the blanket due to "accidents", I finally removed it.  The bad thing about the ex-pen was there were a few times I wasn't watching her for signals! 

 

Right now I have re-purposed it.  I folded it smaller and it blocks off access to the stairs off the deck.  She was big enough once we finally got spring, to let her out on the deck (without worrying she could get through the railings).  It works great there...easy for us to move to go down off the deck, but secure enough that she can't move it.

We have a 85 pound doodle and a 70 pound doodle. The 85 pounder out grew the largest wire kennel, but the 70 pounder is in it at 10 months and doing well.

Teddy has an 8 panel pen that I think is 30 inches high. We got a large crate from the same company that attaches to the pen. Up until he was 6 months old he was in there during the day. He never tried to jump out and he learned not to put his paws on the sides (that took awhile to learn but luckily he stopped doing it before he got too big!) Here's a link to his pen:

He still sleeps in the crate attached to the pen. The main thing I like about this pen is it can be configured in any shape and can attach easily to the crate. His crate has two doors, so one door is open to the pen and the other can be used as an entrance or he can use the pen door.

I agree.  I bought 2 x pens for my mini and have used them as a fence while ours was being repaired, a circle for the yard, and have borrowed one out for others who see this.  I also agree w/ April.  They are most useful when little.  But I've kept mine in case I get a second doodle.

Trav is 52 lbs. and fairly tall.  He had the x-pen that's about 25" inches, and was in it enough as a puppy that he still considers it a barrier, even though he can put his head over it.  I put it across a doorway now if I want to close off an area, and he stays on his side.
