Jane has inspired me. I have written about the Garden Conservancy program before ( Garden Conservancy ). I recently went to one of their open gardens. The owner is a landscape architect and the family also owns a lovely garden center called Waterford Gardens, where they sell water plants, koi etc. It obviously helps to have a personal resouce for plants, fish, hardscaping and most importantly labor.

What LOVELY, photos, F! And oh, my gosh, that cabana-type of structure is exquisite! Thank you for sharing these!
Gotta love my point and shoot : )
Lovely! I also loved that gazebo(?) with the Japanese lanterns.

The gazebo, which they actually called something else that escapes me, overlooks one of the ponds. I thought you'd all prefer a picture without the gawkers : )

There was also this sweet kitty on the doorstep of one of the houses on the property but somehow I didn't take a picture of the spaniel. I was ticked at myself for not bringing the dogs for these people had no problem with dog visitors but some do.

Oh yes, I think they called it a pagoda. Fitting I guess with the sort of Asian theme.
Wow, that is gorgeous!
What a beautiful place-great photos
Wow, what a beautiful and serene place, F.  Thanks for sharing these.  Oh, and I really, really love the kitty by the front door.
I assure you this is for inspiration only. This family has many workers for their businesses and access to wholesale everything to do with gardens. All the rest of us do the best we can. And sometimes, usually when I see very formal, manicured gardens, I prefer my own!
Absolutely. But I do like visiting other gardens. Particularly so I can look without needing to pull a weed or anything. Every time I go to get the paper or mail I'm tempted to do a little weeding here.
