I think I have found a mini goldendoodle that I want, but can anyone tell me if it will darken or get lighter with age?

Also if it is a curlier coat now, what will the coat look like as it ages?

Thanks!

Holly's coat has remained the same texture but its color has lightened considerably.  She is three and a half years old now.

Luca as a pup:

And now:

He looks much more caramel indoors but he is much lighter than he was.

By looking at the picture, I would say the pup will turn out pretty light colored when grown with probably pretty curly hair.  If you want darker hair, you should go with the darkest reddish pup you can.  They almost always get lighter.  At least if you get a dark red color, then if it fades it will still be at least apricot.  I think that's what will happen with Bexter.  You can check out his pics if you want on my page.  However, temperament is much more important than looks!  Those pups are both ADORABLE by the way.
F. - Luca was unbelievably adorable!
Thanks, I thought so too : )
I would say lighten also.  My dogs who started off dark brown and medium brown ended up much lighter as adults.  But color is not the only thing to consider when looking for a puppy.  The hair also seems to be more straight and fluffy as a puppy, but gets curlier with age.
Fudge is chocolate and she has lightened up considerably. Vern is cream and has stayed the same color. Those pups are super cute, but I think they will lighten up as they age.
Rosey has lightened just a bit, and is more noticible when her hair is longer.. she is just 2.  Bandit has stayed jet black and his is 18 months...
Indy has changed from apricot to creme, but his ears have stayed dark. I didn't really want a creme dog, but I actually like the way he looks a lot :)

Ned as a puppy above and Ned at 3 1/2 below.  Only real change is that the darker red on his ears and tail faded to blend in with the rest of him.

KoKo changed dramatically as she "aged".  She's now 10 months old and looks totally different from the baby I first saw.  She is much lighter and her fur is beginning to curl.

Maggie is still black but when she stands in the sunlight you can see tinges of brown all over and her beard is rusty brown.  She is very curly, a lot of poodle settled into her gene pool.
