best brand de matting comb or rake

What is better for de matting - a comb or a rake? What is a good brand I can buy on Amazon, as I need to get it shipped to Australia?

An undercoat rake is not good for the doodles who do not have undercoats - especially if they are non-shedders.  I don't know what can be shipped to Australia but the favorites here seem to be made by  LesPouchs, Chris Christensen, and MGT.    You should have a good slicker brush and a graduated toothed comb.

And I forgot to say that there is a doodlekisses member, Kemp,  who has a mail order business called doodlecountry.com I would bet that if anyone would ship to Australia, it would be another doodlekisses member.

this is what I use for Cooper - she has long dense fur and it gets down to the mats against her skin and cuts through them really well. Dont over-use it though or you will end up stripping too much fur away, though that can be useful for summer if you still want a long coat

 

The Les Pooches brushes are the best slicker brush and are great for every day use

 

I use a slicker brush, then the Oster (if neeeded), then a graduated comb, once a month as Cooper doesnt mat much

Hi krisy, I bought les pooches brushes from kemp at doodle country.com. And it arrived in Australia within a short time kemp also advised on which type of brush would suit my dogs coat. You could email a photo to show coat type..

Ditto although I'm not in Australia-he was more than helpful. I sent him a few pictures of my dog so he could see what her coat looks like. He helped me get a Les Pooches slicker.

Yes Kirsy. Go with Kemp at the country store. He is wonderful and will really help you with what brush to use on your dog's coat as all our dogs have different kinds of coats.
