So I have found a goldendoodle breeder with puppies in the color and size I want and they are near me. Pretty much perfect...but... I am really struggling on what to do.

I really want a puppy, but come Christmas time I will be traveling back home (on a plane) for two weeks. What do you do when you have to leave a puppy that long? I really don't want to be away from him/her that long but don't know what to do...do I bring him/her with me on a plane? Do I find a puppy hotel (they are awful expensive when you will be gone two weeks)

What tips do you all have?

Thanks!!!

I wish I was in Indiana :) You should message me the breeder...maybe I can get a puppy while I am home in Indiana and then travel back with him/her? I dunno, I just really would like to be able to get a puppy...but it might not work.

Rachel - I actually think that is a great idea!  I know a GOOD breeder here in Indiana & she should be expecting F1 minis & they'd be ready to go home in December, so the timing would likely be perfect.  You actually could get one at the end of your trip & fly back with the pup.  Otherwise, I'd wait until after you get back.

I sended a friend request to you so that I can send you a message.  Once you accept, I should be able to give you more specifics.

We travel fairly frequently (sometimes a long weekend, sometimes a week) and we always board D&K.  We are probably crazy but we would really worry if we had a friend stay at the house (what if one of them got loose, etc) and we feel better having them at a boarding facility.  However this can get expensive and we often joke the doodles' "hotel" costs more than ours.

I don't think 5-6 months is too early to board - I believe all the shots are complete by 16 weeks.
