I was just bringing groceries in for my mother and using the "Wait" command each time I opened the door to the garage so that Sunny wouldn't get out. I started to think about how often I use each of Sunny's commands, and the list in order of popularity is something like this:

1. Wait (she has to wait for me to go through doors and gates first, and I tell her to wait when I leave for work so she doesn't bolt out with me like she did when she was a puppy)

2. Sit (for a greeting, for food or a treat)

3. Leave it (usually referring to my other dog or my pet bearded dragons)

4. Walk Pretty

5. High Five

What does your list look like?

No Shea!!!

"Off."  I have a counter surfer!  Just today, he ate 1/2 an omlet with onions and peppers while my husband was talking to the handy man.

My husband says "hi five" with an accent.

This is easy:

Bella "LEAVE IT"

Bella "DROP IT"

Bella "WAIT"

Bella "OFF"

Bella " Uh-Uh"

Bella " STOP EATING SH-T!!!"

Bella "LEAVE IT PLLEEEEZZZZEEEE"

Bella "Come here Bella"

Murphy "SSHHH" when barking at imaginary boogie men

Murphy "Come"

Murphy "Kisses"

Murphy "Sit"   mostly for ear medications now, yup, infections and swimming go hand in hand at my house.

Murphy "OK"   for just about anything pleasurable : eating, getting on the couch or in bed, going into pool, going outside,

Ha, looking back at this it's not hard to see who is the puppy and still needs lots of training.

About a million times a day I say.. Jack off, Jack off, Jack off, Jack off, Jack off, Come here Jack, Good Come Jack Good boy, Jack off, Jack off.. (Jack likes to jump on people when he  greets them, we use the word down to go into a down position, so the trainer taught us to say off for when we want him off of something, had I know this I would not have named my dog Jack because in school and training we were the butt of all the jokes because all you ever hear me say is Jack off, jack come, good come Jack.....

funny, but sadly it is very true, and people laugh really hard when they hear me. First I am from the north living in the deep south and they make fun of my accent and the way I say off, they make it sound like I am saying awwf... Even little kids make fun of me but that is what they taught me to say, it never dawned on me what I was saying

I was thinking that and chuckling to myself after reading the first sentence.
This has to be the funniest post I've ever read on DK!
Oh dear...

1. OFF (which she usually follows up by going on something else, leading to more "off")

2. Leave it

3. Wait

4. Come/sit/down (they are tied, and usually come together)

Other things that we use often but are not commands:

"HEY!", "ENOUGH!", "Be nice!"
