Sometimes Chester (9 week old)  is going 4-6 times a day.  It seems he has his favourite spot on the side of the road so anytime we are close he will go.

This morning we had just taken him out and my husband went back to bed. 30 minutes later Chester went again on the floor!

I am not sure if he just wanted to get our attention. We are having a few training issues..it seems we are on a routine and all is good then..we have a mishap.

He is gaining weight (3 LBs a week.) so I think he is getting nutrition I am just concerned about the frequency.

Thanks

For the first week I would say that during the day it was every half hour.  We certainly never made it to the full hour.  Now Riley is 15 weeks old and hasn't had any accidents in two weeks.  All the hard work in the first two weeks where I was diligent about taking him out and when he was in having him beside me or in his crate.  Yes there were accidents but if you put the work in now you will have a perfectly trained puppy in no time at all.  He is definitely not being naughty though it does help if you manage to catch him going indoors and interrupt him to let him finish outside. Lots and lots of praise when he goes outside and a treat each time.  Now I just say "get busy " and we have a result !!  Good luck.

How often are you feeding him.  He may be on four meals per day still and if so you might think about cutting down to three.  What food are you feeding? all these things will have a bearing on how often he poops.  Riley has three meals a day and goes three times.  But each time he goes he does two separate poops within a few minutes of each other.  It's just his way and each dog will build their own pattern which if you write it down over a day may help you to avoid any accidents.

Riley is now 16 weeks old and we have had no accidents in over two weeks now.  All the hard work DOES pay off!! Best of luck with your new puppy he sounds lovely and totally normal to me.

Zachary is 9 weeks and he poops at least 4 times a day - sometimes more and pees about every 2 hours while he is awake. He sleeps through the night, and takes nice naps during the day. They are still little babies at 9 weeks without a lot of holding capacity and have had very little time to learn what we expect of them and how to communicate what they need from us let alone always do what we want from them. My plan is consistency - but no expectation for much results until about 12 weeks. I've had a couple of great days where he has gone to the door every time, and days like today, where I have taken him out, he pooped and then he went into the laundry room and did the second half of the poop on the dirty laundry waiting to be loaded into the washer.

lilly is 10 wks and now sleeps from 10 to 430 am thanks to other doodle moms that said she could:)  she goes poop twice to three times a day. same food the breeder used. pee more because I leave the water down all day.  She will ring the bell to go out and go poop but will run to her play pen to go pee if I dont catch her in time to redirect.. she will also go ring the bell when she wants to go out and explore...oh well baby steps.
