Omaha had a wine and balloon festival this evening!  It started at 5 and ends at 11!  This was our first time going..didn't know what to expect.  My DH does not like crowds so I knew we weren't going to be there for long.  So, we took Rua to work on interacting in the crowds.

We got there at 5:45PM and left around 7:45.  Rua did pretty well.  If I had a dollar for everytime we were stopped and asked what kind of dog she was or if they could pet her, I could have bought several bottles of wine.

We did get to see some balloons fill and go up.

Rua didn't mind the crowds and the noise.

Very colorful!

As we were leaving, I had DH carry Rua out because if was really getting crowded.

Given Rua was quite visible as we were walking out, many people (women, mostly) would stop DH and talk to him, asking about Rua.

We get in the car and my DH says...."Rua is really a chick-magnet".  I had to laugh.  So now I suppose he'll be wanting to take her on outings.

So, do you have a "chick magnet"?

Huff is a "chick-magnet" too I love it when people stop us.
Okay, I must know what the acronym DH is referring to!?  Thanks.

DH = Dear Husband

Here is a list...we seem to make up more as we go...

I've always interpreted that to mean "Doodle Husband".   : )
Ahh, a list. I was wondering about the DD. Thank you, Dori!

I too thout that dd, dh,so on and so on  meant doodle husband, doodle daughter.

Me too.
Looks like a great day Dori and DH!    When we're out and about I can always feel comfortable leaving DH and Banjo sitting outside the little shops I love to go into.  DH never gets bored while waiting because invariably he's surrounded by plenty of people (mostly ladies!!) wanting to talk to and pet Banjo!   We love taking Banjo out with us, he's been the vehicle to meeting and talking with so many nice and interesting people!!!

Luna is most definitely a chick and kid magnet - people often stop to pet her or just to say she's adorable.  We also get a lot of giggles when they've been walking towards us at the dog park then they realize she's not a golden retriever, but some sort of pint-sized version.

Dori - your photos are beautiful - this looks like such a fun time!  Rooney is a magnet - we once had to leave a swanky mall in Naples due to the crowds he was drawing.  It got a little scary.  I have had men approach while I'm out with Rooney - but they are mostly of the "other" persuasion (not that there is anything wrong with that).  Now, having two dogs and Stuart not quite trained for prime time yet - I find that I take the boys out less to those types of places - it is difficult to handle two doods when I am alone.

Funny that you posted this. Just a couple of weeks ago my daughter and I were trying to get my son (16yrs) to come to the dog friendly outdoor mall with us. It is a really nice mall with higher end stores, brick paver sidewalk, live band in the center during the summer, etc. I knew there would be lots of teens there too, and I told him that Lily would be a good "Chick Magnet", because girls who might be too shy to come up and talk to him might come up and talk about his cute puppy. :) We couldn't talk him into it, and it ended up being a good thing because as my daughter and I were walking and talking, I smelled somthing unpleasant. I turned and Lily was pooping as she walked along. To make matters worse, it wasn't a good solid poop, more runny (like plop, plop, plop)- all over the beautiful brick paver sidewalk. Luckily the customer service center was close by and I ran over there to explain the situation. They were very nice about it and said they would send somebody to come and clean it up. I grabbed some napkins from the ice cream place, and tried to clean up as much as I could. It was embarrassing, but I did start laughing when I began to think of how she was going to be a "Chick Magnet" for my son that night!

Oh yeah. Chicks dig Stella and Stella loves the attention and their high squeeky voices. When asked what kind of dog she is however, my macho husband can't bring himself to say "goldendoodle". He'll say "poodle-golden retriever mix".
