We went to the vet today.  He is very pleased with the healing in Toby's foot.  On Monday, the cone.....comes off!  I may put it back on at night for the week, just because that is when Toby has done the damage before.  I cannot wait for Monday.

 

I think Toby will be severely matted around his neck.  I may use up most of my tube of Cowboy Magic trying to comb it out.

Yes, you can do it! So glad that Toby's foot is healing nicely and there is light at the end of the tunnel!

I think using the cone at night is a good idea.

OMD - I have a deep and never hate of those darn cones.  I know that you'll be ready to party when that thing is off.  I would do nights though - don't want any foot chewing whilst you sleep!

Oh, poor baby.  They do SO hate the cones.  We call it the cone of shame, bc Sheila acts so shameful when she has one on.  I started taking it off when she was sitting by me.  She hated it so much that she learned, fast, if she didn't lick wound, she wouldn't have to wear the shameful cone.  So she never picked at wound and I just left the CONE OF SHAME in view and if she even LOOKED at her leg, I just pointed at it.  She had a hip operation and by the third day, no more cone.  Sounds like Toby is a little more persistent though or maybe his wound itches, hurts.  I was VERY strict on pain, itching meds so she wouldn't feel the need to lick. Good luck.  Not much longer.
