It looks like there are quite a few of us who have just felt and earthquake.  It's a first for me.  DH and I were sitting here, each on our own computers.  We first heard something strange, and then he went to look for the dogs...thought they were into something.  Then he asked me "what's that shaking"?  The whole house was shaking!  It actually lasted for about 30 seconds.  I said I thought it was either an EQ or we were both losing our minds.  We got the Doods and ran downstairs....just in case.  They seemed to sense that there was something wrong.  Anyway, it was over quickly.  It sounds like this was up and down the East Coast.  Who else felt this....and how did your Doodles react?  Hopefully those closer to the epicenter are all fine.

I'm in Charlotte and we definitely felt it.  Bridget just kept on sleeping and didn't seem to notice anything :)
We live about 80 miles from Mineral, VA where it started. I was in the yard cutting the grass and wondered what the rumbling was and next thing I saw our pool looked like a wave pool. Gus and Lilly were going nuts inside the house. My wife was on her way back to work and had to stop, because she almost got shook off the road. Luckily no damage. I can only guess how it was for all the GRAD group members in the Richmond area.

I live about 100 miles SE of the epicenter of the earth quake.  Haley started barking which he does frequently but this time his bark sounded different.  Then the floor started to shake.  It was very brief.  This old house is over 200 years old and sits on brick pilings.  I think that is why it was so minor.  From watching the "local news" this afternoon, it appears that they really felt it in Hampton Roads and Richmond.  Incidentlty, after the barking alarm Haley showed no signs of stress.

I am in MD and we definitely felt it.  I work in a school and we often have workers on the roof.  At first we thought there was just someone on the roof and then the shaking got worse.  By the time we all realized that something was really wrong, we stood up and it felt like the floor was moving in waves.  I must admit that my first thought was that there was some kind of terrorist attack.  Then of course the cell and land line phones were all down for awhile which made it even scarier!  Luckily my fiance was near home so he checked on Yoda who seems to be unaffected by all the hoopla!

I didn't feel it since I was in my car on the highway, and my car's movements must have covered the earthquake's movements.

My mom said that the house felt like a car had run into it though!!

I'm so glad that everyone is okay.  It sounds like some DRrs had some pretty scary moments.
We're in Central NJ and definitely felt it.  I was working from home and thought I was going crazy.  The doodles went nuts just before the shaking started so I think they sensed it.
Yah everyone in NJ seemed to feel it (other than me and Parker who were on a pee break out on the grass)! We didn't feel even a rumble, other than my phone vibrating off the hook because everyone else had felt it and started calling!
Not us : )
You are close to where I am so I guess this area didn't feel it. I was in Upper Saddle River and Mahwah and definitely didn't feel it..but my fiance in Morristown felt it in his office building.
As one who has experienced a fair number of earthquakes (being a California girl), I know how scary the shaking can be, especially if you haven't experienced a quake before.  From your comments, it sounds as if most of you east coasters are a bit "shaken" but otherwise okay.  Glad everybody's doing fine!!!
They had people on the news in Milwaukee, WI tonight that said they felt it. Not me, I was playing catch up on the DK and "other" site. Also shopping for a booster seat for my car for Myla and a longer harness restraint for Chloe. Yes, I'm still on the computer sad but true! I think I've been off since Friday?
