Holler back if anyone has done the DNA test for their dog. I am awaiting my dog's results in agony, it takes forever. Just thought I'd find out if anyone has done this and recieved interesting results.

I am so sorry. You must be worried sick. Hoping he recovers completely and lives a long healthy life!
Oh Bonnie...you have no idea....My heart is just breaking as I watch him just laying around day after day, but I know rest is the only cure. He was the most happiest little boy ever and just loves life and everyone in it. All who meet him just fall in love with him because he treats everyone like they are "his". No matter what stranger greets him, he just puts his head in their lap and everyone feels so very special. Currently, I know that just walking around is painful for him, so he just lays there. He is eating and at last keeping down food and water but his lethargy is just heart breaking. This is going to be a long journey but he has survived so much that I am sure "my miracle boy" will get through this. Thanks for your kind words and support xx

OMG, it wasn't until I read your reply to Bonnie this morning that I realized he was still so sick. I had no idea he was suffering like that! I didn't know about his previous surgery either. Do you think he was hit by a car with those injuries? Anyway, people like you who decide to do what it takes to save a dogs life are saints. So many feel that just a dog is not worth the vet bill and "put them out of their misery", so they call it. Around here where we live, a farm community, there are always strays. I think people come here to "dump" their dog or cat. We hope Huskins is healthy, he seems fine so far. We missed his vet appointment the other day, so we haven't had him checked out yet. I have another dog going in for surgery in a few days so I'll wait until he recouperates. Our female of 12 years just passed last May. We had saved her life about 9 years ago. We were pretty poor back then, but we still figured out a way to pay for her surgery.

We will keep Johny in our prayers and have faith that he'll persevere. He knows and feels your love, that helps him stay strong.

Awww too sweet reply Cheryl. Sounds like we are all kindred spirits on this site and would do anything for our animals. Yes, I am sure seeing stray dogs and cats roaming around would be just torture to me and for sure my poor husband as I would want to take them all in. I think many people just do not have the "trait" and think of animals as disposable....as with you, no amount of money (or lack of it) or time would stop me doing all I could to make a sick animal better or a healthy one happier. Unlike "those" people, I think people like "us" get so much joy from our animals that you cannot even put a price tag on the feeling. This rescue boy Johnny has wormed his way into all our hearts that I think I would take a second out on my house to cover the ongoing vet bills. That being said, thankfully, I took out vet insurance, although they do not cover any past existing issues (this one is new) so we will get a portion of the cost back. I don't think he was hit by a car as he does not have any fear of cars. I do think he has bad genes though so that is another reason I want to see where he DNA actually originates from. Entropian is common in certain breeds of dogs and the hernia?? who knows. The perforated ear drum was from a fox tail growing inside his ear. He was on the road, they think, for a few months according to his "dread locks" (sp). So sounds like you have a full plate. So I'll return the prayers for your own dog going into surgery...hope that goes well. Today, my Johnny Boy is actually laying on his back with legs in the air, so I am sure that is sign he is feeling so much better. All my doodle friends prayers are working :) Hopefully, we will both get our DNA news this week...week three now and it is driving me nuts..ha ha.  Blessings to you and yours for a great weekend xx
Oh great! He's feeling better today, legs in the air! You guys are doing a great job of helping him recoup! Have a great weekend as well. Obviously you won't be going anywhere, but you can just cuddle with the furkids! Yes, we have been through our share of stray animals since weve moved here. I am one of those that can't just avert the eyes. Everything from cats to raccoons, we've sheltered it! Huskins has been exiled to the backyard, poor guy! We are having tile floors and carpet installed this week and I've had to keep everyone off of them. The kids and dogs have all ran through several times anyway, but they all weigh less than 50 lbs. 7 days in and we still have 3 or 4 to go. Uuugh! I sneak Husk in at night to cuddle though! He has not gotten dirty out there at all. I can't understand this. Maybe his fur just doesn't attract dirt or something. He doesn't even smell like he's been outside for a week. Maybe having longer legs than the weener dogs gives him an advantage, but they are always filthy. Anyway, I rrreeaally need to get some more pics of Huskins posted. I have a 6 year old and a baby, so I have no spare time. Oh, and I have another child, my 38 year old husband! heehe! Well, Monday maybe we'll both have a nice surprise in the Inbox!
Cheryl, one of my dogs is a Portie (PWD). His pix are on my profile under Hercules.
Portuguese water dog.  Only know this because this and the Irish water spaniel were two breeds we were looking to find before I stumble upon a picture of a large mop looking dog and knew a goldendoodle was THE dog.  I'm joining the popular vote and guessing Airdale and Poodle.  He definately looks like a doodle in the face to me.
Ha ha, to funny! Harley is so dang cute! His legs are so interesting and lengthy. They remind me of St. Barnard is it. I don't know, but I've seen those legs on some kind of dog! No, I am not drinking right now! Hehee! Your pictures are great guys!
Harley is leggy,  we even cut back on how much food he got...trying to keep him on the thin side and slow his growth.  I read this helps his joints to be stronger down the road.  He's just going to be a big guy.  perfectly ok with us, more to cuddle and love.  : )
I just love my great big doods! It's the lazy person's dog. You don't have to bend over to pet them. ;o)
exactly...lol

Absolutely, u will be one of the first to know! This really is like finding out the sex of your baby!

I really don't think it is a scam. I do understand though how the samples can be easily contaminated either at home before you send them in or at the lab. They probably mix up results occassionaly too, I would imagine. Huskins is always rough playing with our weenie dogs in the backyard. They share bones and play bite eachother. I can imagine there may be some dauchshound DNA in Huskins mouth. I sure hope this doesn't contaminate my sample. The lab workers are probably able to distinguish these types of issues under the microscope though.

Tell me, how is lil' Johny! We sure hope everything is going to be alright with him, bless his little heart! We commented on your page that "daddy will have everything ready" not realizing that Frances is the girl in the pictures. I saw the picture of Johny on the couch with "dad" thinking he was Frances. Hehee.
