We had torrential rain all night and now it's merely raining. The electricity just wavered but remained on. No trees down although I heard things hitting the roof. The basement has a couple of inches of water. They say the rivers will crest and flood in the coming days. The reverse 911 warned us to stay off town roads which are flooded. It could have been much worse here and I hope everyone fared as well.

My biggest fear was getting the dogs out but Luca decided that about 5:30 pm last night was enough til 10:30 today. Then he was carrying on around the shed where the woodchucks live. Could they have climbed up inside or on the vines? I'm sure the burrow is flooded and he was barking towards the roof of the shed. I had to "lasso" him and bring him in. I was afraid he could get into the brook if the fence was weakened.

The brook behind my house is a raging torrent with white water. In places the yard slants, thankfully, toward the brook and I felt water running through my crocs. Let us know how you are when you can.

About the same here, I have a brook to the side of my property that is raging also. I hope it is the end of it. Stay safe!

I have exactly the same situation as our creek alongside our house is overflowing the banks and it is still pouring (just south of Albany NY) but rain is about to end--I realize that we may not have seen the crest of the water yet--basement has over a foot of water in basement with three sump pumps going. It really could have been worse though if original storm predictions had been true.

Thanks Irene!

F. Parker.  Been sitting here all morning waiting to hear how you are!   :)   Good to know.
Maybe those groundhogs will get washed away, along with that nasty thing, Snookie.  A cleansing moment for NJ for sure
True enough, I can only hope. I didn't get out of bed for the longest time after I was up. The rain was still torrential and Calla would not take no for an answer if I was up. I managed to put her off long enough for the winds to calm down at least. What one does for the doodles.
LOL
Ha ha Joanne - good one.
I'm so glad to hear that you guys are all okay.  We're fine here too, although it's still pouring and the winds remain strong.  So far we have power, but now a half million CT residents don't.  They are saying it will be days before it's returned.  We are also getting water in the basement, and if the rain doesn't stop soon our street will be too flooded to drive through.  Looks like we'll have a couple more hours of this.  The Irish Brothers are not liking it at all....Guinness had a real hard time finding a place to potty - he's VERY particular.  They're also pretty bored....maybe some "trick training" this afternoon.  Take care.
Glad you're OK. Really calming down here. But there are mini ponds all over the place. Squish, squish.

FINALLY, pictures are coming in from the NJ coast.  Serious, we have had no info from CNN or other channels.   LOOKS WET!

F., have you heard from your sons?

Thanks. We has Continuous coverage all night. I spoke to one son, the other didn't answer his phone, nothing new in that. I think he's OK too, lower Manhattan was spared some of the worst things they feared.

F. Parker, I found your son?
