I am new to this site and just joined this afternoon-I have a 10 week old Doodle who often does well
on a walk but sometimes just sits in our driveway and refuses to walk! He definitely needs the exercise or he gets crazy in the house-any suggestions?? Thanks

Toby doesn't walk well yet either, and he's almost 13 weeks. He does much better when there are two people. I can use a blowing leaf to spur him on, but sometimes he just lays down on the sidewalk! Any loud noises stop him in his tracks. We went to the park, and the geese and ducks were quite frightening to him. He's doing better than he used to, though, so in time I know he'll walk well.
My willson was like that ttoo and I agree with Ann alot of treats to coax , and it works and try short walks, and of course lots of praise.
Dexter totally did the same thing when he was young. We just did really short walks with him, but sometimes we would go 2 houses and he would sit and not move. It was definitely frustrating. We would lure him with a treat, but I have to admit we carried him home a few times (not the best lesson to teach them). He did just outgrow this one day so hang in there...things got so much easier after he was 5-6 months old.
