I am taking my almost 5 month old doodle for a trim around her eyes on friday. I have seen and read of horror stories of groomers shaving the face! Does anyone have any eye pictures I can perhaps see to give my groomer a better idea of what I would like her to look like?

THANKS!

I don't have a picture, but Bexter stands pretty still & I just cut around his eyes myself.  I think he looks fine!  Is that all you're having the groomer do?  If so, I'd just do it myself (unless she doesn't sit still enough...)

I agree. I do it myself but then I do it all myself. Here's Luca, wavier fleeceAnd Calla, straighter fleece

Aww thank you all for the feedback and adorable pictures! We are also having a sanitary trim, nails (I want the groomer to show me how) and a shampoo. We have been bathing her ourselves but we figured it would be good to take her to the groomer early on to get used to it!

This is a picture of Bella with her first real trim. I use thinning shears around her eyes and face so it's not a blunt choppy look. Her ears were still filling in and it was a breezy day when I took this, but I wanted to show you the eyes, bangs and snout as that's where the groomer might take too much. Depends on the look you want. Good luck

So much of it depends on how your Doodle's hair grows and the direction.  Just don't let them SHAVE any part of the snout or between the eyes or the bridge of the nose.  Some Doodles have the little tufts of hair like my Gracie Doodle does and so I just use thinning shears to keep it wispy but not in her eyes.  The eye cut I love is the one F just posted of Calla but Gracie's hair just doesn't grow that way.  I love how the eyebrows sort of swoop over and down the side.  Also, take notice of her little wispy hairs coming from the bridge of her nose.  She is the perfect Doodle face cut specimen IMO.  But we all just don't have the same type hair.  Here is a goofy picture of Gracie Doodle but not as a puppy.

I bought some short, curved, blunt-tipped scissors and use them.  At first, it was difficult to get Rua to stay still, but I kept at it and now she sits pretty still.  It really helps that I am more confident.  Rua can tell.

I am taking care of Lilly (Mimi Linna & Lilly) until Monday.  I asked Mimi Linna if I could trim Lilly's pee-pee hair...they were long and always wet.  I can remember the first time I did Rua's...I was a nervous wreck.  Now, no big deal.

Hah...nothing worse than those wet pee pee hairs!
That was how I would know if Rua made a puddle...if her pee-pee was wet.  Lilly's were 2" long...they were always wet.
Wow what a nice doggie sitter to trim pee pees! Can I send Myla? Hers are too long and I just showed DH that they are staying wet and dark! I touched her near there and she flipped out on me! She's very touchy!
On this note, do you ever cut the eyelashes.  Harleys grow in a downward direction.  They do not get in his eyes, but are in the line of site
Riley's eyelashes are one full inch long and they sweep to the side.  I would never ever cut them and I don't think you should cut Harley's even if they sweep downwards.... perhaps an eyelash curler? (just kidding)

I have to cut Murphys as they get inches long and get in his line of vision. Especially with swimming this summer. I hate cutting them and still leave them longer than DH thinks they need to be, but I do the grooming and I like them a little on the long side, so there!  They are about an 1.25 inches now, but will be over 2 inches long before they get in the way.
