Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

This is Qhinn, he was a stray, found by my best friend's daughter, Cindy who is a dog/animal lover and has six dogs of her own!  She has placed ads in the local papers, vet's office & pet shops - no one has claimed him. Cindy has had Qhinn since this summer, she believes someone dropped him off where she works (she works with animals).  She has taken him to the vet and he is now up-to-date on shots, neutered and he has been groomed. The vet says Qhinn is definitely an aussie mix, but perhaps mixed with airdale. He looks kind of poodle curly to me. He has a blue eye and a brown eye. Per the vet, he is one to two years old and weighs 42 pounds. He is good with dogs, but would not think twice about chomping on a bunny!  He is housebroken, crate trained and I think he is adorable!

My son and his girlfriend are looking to rescue a dog.  Adam may be getting a fabulous birthday present this Sunday!  If not, then Bruin may be getting a big brother (to replace Adam since he recently moved into his own home)!  Qhinn will be spending the day with us on Saturday.  Will keep you posted!

Not the greatest pic...but just curious about your thoughts based on this photo.

Airedales do have very, very curly hair, usually much tighter curls than a poodle. Their coats are also wirier than a poodle's. I'd say Australian Shepherd/Airedale mix would be a good guess. I know there are some doodles with this kind of coloring, but it's pretty rare. The dark mask around the eyes and down the muzzle is also a typical marking for an Airedale, although it's more often seen in puppies.
Thanks for that info!
LOL, should have read the responses first. I agree with this assessment.

Beautiful dog, anyone would be lucky to have this baby!

Those eyes and the eyebrows are definitely an austrailian sheppard....but I cannot decide if she is mixed with a poodle or an airedale.

Pretty puppy no matter what the mix:)

That looks like an aussiedoodle to me! Lots of DK members have them--maybe there is one to compare to. I don't see any Airedale in this guy, but you never know---

Here's just one photo from the following Airedale puppy website:

That DOES look similar! But this is a young pup not an adult--the color pattern changes so much by the time they are grown, no?
Most of them do lose the "mask" as adults, but not always. Being a mixed breed, though, hard to say. That color pattern wouldn't come from a poodle, either.
Good luck with him! He's adorable!
Wow, he's a beauty. Hope everything works out and Qhinn has found his new home!
What a darling puppy. I hope all goes well for him.
