A new puppy after a loss

We recently lost our 11 month old Goldendoodle, Bailey, to health problems.  We decided to get a new puppy to feel the whole in our hearts.  So, Wesley is our new Aussiedoodle puppy.  He will be here on Dec. 1. I am excited, but missing Bailey tremendously.  Attached is a pic of our little boy.

First of all, so sorry to hear about Bailey.   It is so hard to lose a beloved pet.  I think you are doing to best thing, however, by getting another puppy right away.  He will help heal the place in your heart that aches for Bailey.  I love aussiedoodles.  I was looking for one last September when my labradoodle died (also health problems) and ended up with an ALD instead.  That has been fine for us.  He is half the size of my labradoodle.  Enjoy your new baby and post lots of pictures when he gets to your home.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bailey.  I totally understand how you feel.  I remember when our miniature dachshund Ruby passed away.  We loved her like our baby; she actually was our first baby before our human kids were born.  Whenever I would come home, there was no doggie to greet me at the door and whenever my kids ate their dinner, I would notice lots of crumbs under the table when before Ruby would eat them.  As I waited for my goldendoodle Bexter, there were times I would cry thinking of Ruby & I felt guilty for being so happy about Bexter.  Then, a wonderful friend I met on DK told me that a piece of Ruby's spirit would live inside of Bexter.  OMD!  That was the sweetest, most insightful thing that was just what I needed to hear to let go of my sorrow over Ruby and not feel guilty about all the love I have for Bexter.  She was so right!  I hope you also will feel that there will be a piece of Bailey's spirit living inside of your new puppy.  Your love for them is just like kids...he will not replace your precious Bailey, and you will grow to love him every bit as much, and it's ok.  Congratulations!

Thank you so much for your kind remarks.  We were so sad when Bailey passed away and we struggled with getting a new puppy. 

We actually talked to our kids the other night and asked them what part of Bailey did they like and hope that Wesley will have.  It was very interesting to hear our kids tell us their favorite parts of Bailey and what they hope Wesley will get from Bailey.

Your little boy is absolutely adorable!  I am very sorry about the loss of your Bailey.  Can't wait to see more pics!!!
