Windows down, wind in the face -- no thank you mom!

When I roll down the windows in the car for Maggie to enjoy the fresh air, she gets upset. If I put the top down she puts her head as close to the seat cushion as possible. Is this normal for doodles? I have owned other dogs who loved the windows rolled down.

Maggie is actually pretty smart.  It is dangerous for dogs to have the wind blowing in their faces.  All kinds of debris can get into their eyes  Some people actually put goggle on their dogs so they can enjoy the breeze.

Tara is not real excited about having her head out of the car either. She has doggles and sunglasses for protection but I am still concerned that at high speeds a rock might fly up and hit her so we only let her "hang out" when we are going VERY slow and there are no other cars around. She seems to enjoy the breeze at about 10 MPH!

Monty never wants to put his head out the window.  I usually open the back windows for ventilation so that he doesn't get annoyed.  lol

Daisy prefers the windows up. Once we opened the sunroof and she had a fit.

I don't let my dogs put their heads out windows because it seems dangerous for a few reassons. But Calla, particularly, likes it if I open the front windows a bit and she gets a breeze blowing back on her face.

How interesting that there is such a difference in the dogs preference! Why do you guys think there is a difference between the dogs liking the windows down or hating it?

Bruin is still a pup, only 4 mos, but he prefers the windows up too.  I think he does not care for the loud noise it makes.

Casey doesn't stick her head out the window. Instead she keeps her head in the car but next to the open window.

Until now I thought all dogs loved to hang their heads out the car window except Alma.  Now I know that she is not alone.  She rests her head on the door and only her nose is poking out.  I guess she likes the smells but not the wind in her face.

Ginger looks toi put her head out of the window.  Her fur looks some strange all blown back!

Huff loves having the window down especially in my dad's truck that has a broken a/c.
