Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi everyone!  I'm new around here and a kind DKer suggested I start a discussion to get name help.  We're having a hard time picking one for our male puppy who will be coming home right after Christmas.  I know we have time, but he's 2 weeks old now and I want to call him by his name when I talk about him.  I'm weird, I suppose.  My husband and I had our daughter named before she was even conceived.  :)

I feel like I've looked at just about every name out there.  I'm looking for something "human" but not "TOO human" if that makes any sense.  Something classic.  I like Jack a lot but my friend and neighbor has a son named Jack who mows our lawn, so that won't work.  I like Charlie but our other neighbor recently put their dog to sleep and his name was Charlie.  Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!  :)  I also like Henry and Winston but I'm not sure I "love" them.  I'm such a pain!

The names we had liked were: Riley, Winston, Baxter, Bentley, Boscoe, Cody, Coby, Dakota, to name a few :) We gave my son the job of naming our Aussiedoodle and he loved Wesley. Well, he named the puppy Wesley Bewok James :) We loved Wesley!

Congrats on your new puppy and keep us posted as to what name you decide. I am sure the name will come to you.
How about Logan?    Jayden?   Shane?     If you like Jack, you could do something like Jackson instead.  Isn't it fun thinking of names and dreaming about your pup?   Is he a labradoodle or goldendoodle?
He's a goldendoodle.  Our cat's name is actually Jackson.  :)  Thanks for all of the great ideas!
and because you like Charlie, you might also like, Harley or Marley!
Or Barley!

I like Teddy!  It's a name I considered when naming Bexter, especially since these guys end up looking like teddy bears!

Also  - I agree with thinking about places you've been.  My husband proposed to me on Mount Baker, so Baker was a name I was considering also.  We went to Bryce canyon, so I considered Bryce too.  This is fun!  Good luck!

Teddy is a good one.  :)

Yep...I like Rudy too for Rudolph!

what about Oliver or Simon

LOL - Oliver is my labradoodles name and Simon is his middle name :)  and he looks just like a Oliver Simon.

I like Oliver!  You could call him Olly!!!!

I like the name Oliver!  My grandparents had a dachshund named Oliver.  He was a cool dog. :)
