Update on Lexi and her illness

We saw the specialist this morning. We are so pleased with the care and understanding that she has provided to Lexi and us as well. Lexi has gained four pounds back in the past two weeks, her infection is almost gone,  urine is clear, no more blood in it and her bladder pollups and thickening of the walls, per the Ultra Sound, have  been substantially reversed by the Convenia antibiotic injections. The Dr. is confident that the damage is fully reversible and she will be completely normal in a month or two.. They are $150.00 each injection  but seem to be magic bullets and are doing the trick. So far four shots and one more when she returns for testing,  but well worth the expense.

She goes back for one more injection in two weeks and another test to make sure she stays infection free. The prednosone and Percorten have totally controlled her Addisons and she is once again happy, playful, affectionate and running and playing with Billabong in the yard. We are blessed to have our Lexi back from what seemed to be losing her due to mis-diagnosis and greedy vet care from our prior vet.
