Trix is 9 months and for the past week, she has been having accidents in the house (and WORSE in her crate).  She hadn't had an accident in months!

On Tuesday, she was chewing her antler on the couch and just stood up and peed right there in front of us!

Then, the following day, I came home from work and she had pooped in her crate!  (she was only in there three hours and had pooped and peed just before I put her in there).

Then I wake up this morning and she peed in her crate!   Again, DH took her out just before putting her in for the night.  She didn't even bark to let us know she needed to go (as she usually does)

She has a large size crate for dogs from 40lbs to 70 lbs (she's only 31lbs) so I decided as a first step, I'll put her old divider back up for awhile in case she just started figuring out she has enough room to rest and do her business.  She has no blankets or towels in her crate either. Do I need to start taking her water and food away a few hours before bedtime? (like I used to when she was 10 weeks!)

I spoke to my vet today and she doesn't think it's a UTI  (I don't either, she's had those before, so I know the signs)

Did any of your doods go through this around that age?  I'm really starting to get discouraged.  I'm not sure where to go from here.

Thank you :)

My first thought was UTI and I still might be tempted to get her tested. Other than that, I have no answers and hope someone can help you. Has her food changed at all?

Thanks Laurie - I think I'll bring in a sample if it happens again.

Sorry Sara, I have no idea. But Trix is so dang cute!

I'm not sure either, but sorry you are dealing with this! Does it seem like she is going all the way when she goes out? Ember sometimes gets distracted and doesn't finish and I have to remind her, haha. I think I would start taking up food/water a few hours before bedtime to see if that helps...

Keep us posted!

Any new changes to routine/food/etc?

Our pup is 8 mos. and I have noticed he is also reverting back to some old behaviours we thought were a thing of the past.  I think I might mentally start over if I were you..... 'big treats' for doing her business outside and ignore the unwanted behaviour.   Make the treat especially great - give LOTs of exercise - playing and try the crate in short stints if possible once again.   I wish you the best - Trix is absolutely gorgeous and I hope just being a 'teenager' right now!

Thanks for all your advice and support.  She has been accident free since I posted (of course!) haha and I think we just have to back track a little, like most of you suggested.

I will increase the exercise (although she already gets 2 walks a day and plays fetch for close to an hour and also goes to day care twice a week) and take her food/water away an hour or so before bedtime.

Thanks again, everyone :)

Keep up the good work Sara!   (And Trix!)
