Well all I can say is that everything I have learned about grooming has come from Barb and all our fellow DKers.  Geesh...I even advise and try to help when people ask.  And...I HAVE a Goldendoodle and she is a big one!  I have been very happy with my grooming and every time it gets better and better.  Some times I still screw up but that is to be expected.  I get tons and tons of compliments on her grooming from total strangers so I must be doing something right.  Gracie does NOT shed!!!  What can I say?  Only right after brushing there might be some residual hair as would be with a woman with longish hair.  Her tail is Golden Retriever fur and not hair so I find some of it on her car seat from time to time.  Wavy fleece, wavy, what ever...she is soft and wavy and has curls on her neck and under her ears.  I went to the website and just had to laugh.  This woman goes on and on about how wonderful they are on the home page.  And...absolutely no refunds or returns when you purchase one of her doodles.  Right there I would never do business with her.  She just seems to think she (they) are so perfect that they can do no wrong.  What ever put the hair up her ass anyway to go and vent about us.  Who has the most followings...DK or her?  I was very angry reading it but I will not fall into a war or words with her.  There is not another Doodle site out there that even comes close to ours...

PS  the only thing I DO agree with is that she shampoos with Pantene and not dog products.  I also use human shampoo and it is Pantene on Gracie Doodle.  She has hair and not fur so I treat her as I would myself.  Not a dry flake of skin on her, hot spot or itch...her skin is perfect!

Absolutely, Jared. You are clearly very supportive of this DK community and a caring, loyal friend. The article made me mad and I was reacting to the person who wrote it, certainly not to you!

Exactly.  The leaders of our groups have spent a lot of time teaching us, researching on our behalf,etc...this woman said she used to belong to DK...too bad she just didn't address her disagreement in a professional manner.  Again, it speaks to her character, not anyone here. I am SO SORRY if you thought I was referring to you!

Well, fellow DK Forum bullies, I see we are outed : ) I guess the lady in question didn't like the fact that we questioned some of the genetic nonsense she was spouting as I remember it. ThisDK grooming put down is really a funny blog if you don't take it too seriously. I am relieved I didn't know how dangerous scissor cutting was til now or I wouldn't have been doing it these 3 1/2 years.  Is anything she says true of goldendoodles? I wouldn't know since I have labradoodles but I seriously wonder.

Nothing she says about anything is true, and that's why she criticizes the information here and elsewhere...because it contradicts hers.

Sounds likely.

What a hag. I know we all love Barb, I especially as I own 2 of her dogs, and live about 15 min from her. My ALD,s do not shed. This lady is a wack job, all I can say is get a life lady. Rhonda, Marabelle, and Jeriki

Those of us who have found Barb's advice to be helpful (and really, who of us hasn't??) will discount this posting for the silly, childish rant that it is.

We love DK and that lady is missing out!Let her stay at her Goldenworld. We don't want her at DK!!!!

Geez...Why are people so mean to others?  If people have different opinions, they should just leave it at that & not try to personally attack someone's opinion.  It makes me wonder why she was so ready to put something/someone down.  I love all the info I've gotten from DK!  I can HONESTLY say that my Bexter DOES NOT shed.  Either that or I'm totally blind!

My favourite bit is where she says it doesnt take 10 hours to de-mat a dog - it takes 1 hour to shave them.... yeah it takes 1 hour to shave them, but it DOES take 10 hours to de-matt a dog WITHOUT shaving (ie keeping the fur)- trust me, I did it when Cooper lost her puppy fur and I did it when we moved to Ontario and the mix of the cold and playing/rolling around with the inlaws dog matted Cooper back like crazy.

Shes a nut job!
