Parker the Ring Bearer?

Just thinking about our wedding in May and was wondering if it is totally dorky and weird to have Parker as part of the day as I would love to have my baby in my photos since he was part of the engagement shoot! I could get him a nice bow-tie and he could be my ring bearer?? lol

His trainer from his puppy classes actually offers this service and since everything else is so upside down with my wedding planning and my parents probably not even coming, I felt like doing something fun. The original theme of the wedding was supposed to be FUN anyway because we decided to get married next to a carousel.

I don't know...I don't wanna be one of "those people" as people have said to me but I guess I will see...I gotta see how much the trainer charges to transport him and get him ready because we have a super budget now that we are suddenly paying for everything now because when we signed all the contracts, my parents were going to pay 50%. OY

UPDATE: The dog trainer who could deal with Parker was okay financially but happens to have another wedding on the same Friday night as ours! There goes that!

Your wedding is for you, not for other people, so do what you want.  If you and your husband-to-be want Parker to be a part of it, then make him a part of it.  He does look very handsome in a tie!

I semi eloped for my wedding - only our parents and siblings know. I didnt want a big wedding, but I have a big family, so knew I had to do it my way (we later had a party for the family).

I dont plan on having children - our pets (Cooper and 3 cats) are as close to kids we are going to get, so it makes perfect sense to include them.

many people have children at weddings, who misbehave and spoil things - I bet Parker will be much better behaved!

I was saying the same thing to my friend last night when I was talking about it...my cousin has 4 kids and she is one that would certainly have a comment because she isn't a dog lover anyway and everything is about her kids...who are 3 and under and ALLLL monsters! Only the three year old is invited to my wedding and even she alone makes me nervous! lol

I would do it- but have a close dog loving friend ready to take care of Parker if anything goes wrong!

And I would have Parker in the wedding photos - I regret not having a pic with my pooch in my photos 26 years ago!!  We did some pics at the house and it would have been so easy!!!

As a wedding planner I say do it but some things I have learned: have someone in charge of Parker Not your DH and you. There is so much going on having a dog sitter be it a friend or family member is paramount. Also only
Have him at the ceremony and for pictures. The reception even iif
Outdoors would be too overwhelming for him. And
Last: just like human RB's DON'T give him the real rings subs from Michaels will look
fine and no one will know the difference. Also like human RBs all may not go to plan but that is

Yah I would plan on him either being driven back home by his "handler" or putting him in the hotel room after in his crate.

Your pictures are AWESOME!!  Parker in the tie is TO CUTE!!!  My vote is - YES YES YES.  It is YOUR day as Randy Finoli always says on Say Yes to the Dress :-)  LOL

I went to a wedding over the summer where their dog was the ring bearer and it had to have been the most fun, cutest thing I have ever seen.  I am a total sap for wedding shows on TV, Four Weddings, Platinum Weddings, Say Yes to the Dress, etc.  And there have been many that have their four legged family memebers.  One even had an iguana!!

Do it! and them make sure to give us a full report. If I ever get married, I wouldn't dream of leaving the doodles out of it. They are my family too. In fact, I'd rather have just them and leave everyone else out of it lol!!!
