Just thinking about our wedding in May and was wondering if it is totally dorky and weird to have Parker as part of the day as I would love to have my baby in my photos since he was part of the engagement shoot! I could get him a nice bow-tie and he could be my ring bearer?? lol

His trainer from his puppy classes actually offers this service and since everything else is so upside down with my wedding planning and my parents probably not even coming, I felt like doing something fun. The original theme of the wedding was supposed to be FUN anyway because we decided to get married next to a carousel.

I don't know...I don't wanna be one of "those people" as people have said to me but I guess I will see...I gotta see how much the trainer charges to transport him and get him ready because we have a super budget now that we are suddenly paying for everything now because when we signed all the contracts, my parents were going to pay 50%. OY

Pictures of my photogenic dood from our engagement shoot this summer.

UPDATE: The dog trainer who could deal with Parker was okay financially but happens to have another wedding on the same Friday night as ours! There goes that!

Oh so cute, Lisa!

Absolutely a great idea . My daughter had her doodle in her wedding 3 yrs ago and it was great fun and the pictures were priceless. I will try to post one later. She wouldn't have even considered NOT having him there. He is her first baby and part of the family, just as Parker is. I think it adds a very special and sensitive touch to the whole affair. It's a memory you will cherish forever.

Oh I would love to see a photo of her wedding doodle!

I went to a wedding a couple of years ago. The bride's son (second marriage) was the ring bearer. They had 4 attendants, 2 were human friends and 2 were their dogs. It was wonderful. It was so them. Their dogs were  so much a part of their lives that they wanted to include them in such an important day. If this is in your heart than you should definitely do it.

I think it is a great idea to include Parker!

Here is my daughter after her ceremony at the beach, with 5 month old doodle Marley. I had just met this happy ball of fur and fell madly in love with doodles and knew then that I had to have one. It was actually during this week that I found DoodleKisses online July, 2008 and the rest is history.

Well I think the above picture makes the argument "a no brainer" than!

Do you need anymore convincing?

AMEN!

lol it is a no brainer for me but I think DF needs convincing! He is an accountant...always thinking about the finances and doesn't want to spend a few hundred dollars to have the trainer there to deal with Parker and transport him. The trainer hasn't responded to my email yet so I don't know what she charges yet!

Those pesky men - always trying to take the fun out of things!!  If you really want Parker and need the trainer, you'll find a way.  Many people these days give cash instead of a wedding gift - maybe all you need to do is determine ahead of time that the trainer's charges would come out of gift money.

I know! That's how I think...but I understand where he comes from as well because of course we would like to get out of our studio apartment soon and the full weight of the wedding bill is falling on us which we wouldn't have taken on originally if my parents hadn't offered to pay 50% before my mom got sick. But there are so many things that are stressful and I would rather just enjoy it and a couple hundred dollars shouldn't be the end all...I will work on him! lol

aww cute doodle!
