Drama has caused me to choose a new necklace for my wedding dress..need help!

So the day I had picked out my wedding dress friend Jennifer and my Godmother came to try them on with me (since my mom and sister and grandmother live in Bermuda) and I found the perfect gown after trying on only 4 dresses (completely the opposite of what I had gone in for). When I was prancing around the store in the dress, my Godmother saw a necklace in their accessory case that might look nice with the gown so I tried it on and we ALLLLL loved it! Then when we asked how much it was ($400), I decided that was too scary of a price, but my Godmother insisted on buying it, saying it was her gift to me for my wedding day since it looked so perfect with the gown (this was the beginning of March 2011). In August (after my mom had been ill a couple months and stresses were high already, my Godmother decided to "have a stroke" as my mother really believes and go crazy for no reason at all. One day behind my back while she was talking to me about normal stuff, she called my fiance and told him I was selfish and told him all of these insane lies that I would never say or do (such as call her fat and tell her what she was allowed to eat and say awful things to her boyfriend [whom I like and got along with great)...NEVER in a million years would I dream of saying something like that to ANYONE, not even the nasty girls that bullied me in middle school and high school! I was going to ignore it thinking maybe she was just stressed about my mom being ill too and needed to vent and take something out on me because I was close, but then she started posting things on her facebook wall about me...I am no longer in high school and don't wish to go back to those days, so I asked her about what was going on and she told me that what she said was true (she was determined to believe this) and told me that I was going to regret doing what I did (didn't do anything) and basically told me to have a nice life and thanked me for ruining her 30 year friendship with my mom (which I again haven't and would never...). I cut communication with her because I wasn't going to argue and defend myself against things that never happened and thought it was completely inappropriate that she would call my fiance and say those things in the first place, but I have been respectful to her when it has come to my mom and give her updates when she has asked and whatnot...

Not thinking anything about my necklace, I didn't pick it up because the wedding store is far away and was just going to wait until it came in with my dress, so yesterday when I went to see my dress and get the flower girl fitted, I asked if I could have my necklace to try on with my dress and the girl came out and said "It is here (because they special ordered it) but the person that paid for it cancelled her credit card payment of it and wanted it "returned". So 6 months after she bought me a gift, she took it back and now I am stuck with the task of finding another perfect necklace! (My cousin offered her's but it is small and simple so just not as "statement-y" as I would like since the dress is so simple and it is strapless)

Here is a photo of the gown with the old perfect necklace (John never comes on here so he wont see this! lol)

and here are some choices I thought could be potentials from online:

Oh and this is my cousin's wedding necklace:

Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions you have! I had to vent the story because I was so flustered yesterday when the visit to the wedding store brought all the drama back!

Clarification: My Godmother didn't legitimately/medically have a stroke...it is what my sick mother said when I told her how my Godmother was acting and the things she was saying about me...my mom is not in the same state of mind and she really believed that maybe my Godmother had a stroke at the time. I would have said she went "psycho (bad word)" but stroke was more polite. lol

the dress is just stunning! I could actually see you going in the complete opposite direction and just wearing a simple solitaire. I like the other suggestions as well including your cousin's necklace.

More options I like...I am leaning toward the pearls still just because my sister's pearl earrings will be my "something borrowed" and that look was already in my head because of the original necklace.

You look gorgeous in that dress!! And I agree that the necklace should be simple--no offense, but I think the necklace that was returned is a bit much for that dress. Sorry about what your Godmother is doing--sounds to me like the stroke may have damaged a part of her brain and caused a personality disorder--i have heard of that happening to other people and they needed to be medicated to return to their senses....I haven't looked at the other necklaces yet, but your cousin's is pretty and would be "something borrowed". I will look and comment on them in a minute!

As if there's not enough natural drama and emotion attached to a wedding and its preparation - THIS has to happen!!??  Clearly, she has some (big) issues of her own to deal with - stay clear of her if you can.

As far as choosing a new necklace - you may want to consider going without a necklace altogether.  My daughter opted for some beautiful drop earrings, but kept her neck free of adornment.  I thought it was beautiful:

so pretty!! Love that look--and she and her hubby look like fashion models!

That is a beautiful photo!

Gorgeous!

So beautiful! Wow!

Just beautiful!

Your daughter is stunning!   My first thought when I saw your beautiful dress Katie...was no necklace....just a simple drop earring.  Your dress is positively gorgeous...and the focus should be on your lovely smiling face!
