Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
With the discussions concerning illnesses and accidents lately on our list, I'm curious to find out what members do to help keep their Doodles healthy...other than high quality food, regular vet visits / immunizations, preventatives, exercise etc. I realize genetics play a big part...
Louie is turning 4 on the 17th and I just want him to live a LONG and healthy life with the most advantages I can give him. I DID just sign up for Pet insurance...something I've put off but I hope not to have to use it!

I give Cooper and my cats a TINY bit of apple cider vinegar as it helps reduce the eye crusties they get, and the staining my lynx siamese gets. I also give them digestive enzymes because otherwise the cats poop stinks! My siamese has bad digestion and my brown tabby has a slow metabolism
I occasionally give them omega oil, but I currently have a brand they dont like
Peri gets Evening Primrose Oil, eats high quality food, gets only human-quality treats (fruit, animal crackers, carrots), and daily walks to keep her fit. And we have life insurance. Louie is a total doll by the way!
Keep them lean is all I can add - despite the obvious health benefits it is much easier on their joints given that they can be prone to hip and joint issues.
Excellent point!
Aside from what you mentioned, we give Darwin evening primrose oil for itchiness, and heartworm medicine.
We give Huff powder GNC dog vitamins from petsmart. And web make him homemade food.
yogurt & fish oil wrapped in cheese for breakfast. Chicken breast tidbits for dinner.
Ours get a regimen of Beta Glucan 1,3; Gamma Vitamin E; D3; Omega 3,6,9; LAL; Biotin; Silica; Vitamin B5; Antioxidant; CoQ10 every few days. They also get a multi-vitamin everyday. DH also give Jack and Moose Glucosamine for their joints. Moose and Jack are both 5 and very healthy. They have never had any health issues. KOW
