Orthopedic bed recommendations anyone?

Since Hunter isnow the big 3, I think I am going to get her an orthopedic bed. Does anyone have any recommendations on a brand, company? Fabric? What has held up the best, most comfortable feeling, machine washable cover? I have looked some at Orvis and Dr.s Foster & Smith but it's hard to decide from a catalog alone.

Same at my house, Nancy.  Plus, I always get my dog their own couch.

My dogs think all couches are theirs when only one is.  How you accomplished that is still a mystery to me.  We keep quilts on the others and tried spraying the  quilts with only moderate success.

The Orvis dog beds I have gotten were really high quality and if Hunter would not use the bed you could always return it. Another idea is if you already have a bed for her you could use the same cover and simply replace the filling, which is what I have done for Camus.

I thought Hunter had a sleep number of 7 or 8...maybe they can make her a bed...haha

Since Riley has taken to sleeping on our bed during the day if we are out he already has the best memory foam bed that I could buy here LOL : )  He does mess it up a lot though and I notice he particularly likes my pillow so now I change the pillow slips at night!

I've bought and returned so many dog beds - I'm leary of ordering one knowing I'd probably have to pay to ship it back.  Do you have any local stores where it wouldn't be costly to return if Hunter didn't like it?

My boys, just this month, got new Tempur-Pedic beds from Orvis.  I got two large ones so that Stuart & Rooney wouldn't try to sleep in each other's bed.  They are super heavy and take up a whole lot of room but I thought that they might help Stuart's hips.
