How to use Les Pooch brushes

I've just taken the plunge and ordered a large green Les Pooch brush as well as the Emergency Mat Zap for my F1B, Max.   I was wondering if anyone was aware of a video that would show me the proper use of the brushes?   I'm so frustrated, every time I think we have the mat thing under control he just seems to grow them in multiples!   Also, can anyone tell me a good way to remove the mats from his front and back sides of his back legs?  This is where they are the worst.

if you do a search for Kemp Radar on this site you will find he has a store for all things doodle. You can order from him, or maybe find somewhere online - you can order directly from Les Pooch but they are the same price as Kemp. Kemp will send you a cookie too :)

They are expensive, hence why I was using a regular slicker til i saved up. My large purple one was about $95, but worth every penny. Smaller ones are cheaper

On occasion you can find a group buy. Much cheaper. Someone from here could organize one by contacting Les Poochs but it entails work in getting orders and sending them on to people.

I ordered mine from the Doodle Country store based on Kemps recommendations.  He's very helpful and will guide you to the right brushes for your doodle.  The brushes I purchased were $85.00 each.

All I know is I've been using one plus a comb on Riley since he was four months old, he's nearly 11 months now and he has no mats.  I brush him every day.  I think the Les Poochs is well worth the money. It's actually very easy to use and it did take me a while to work it out.  You don't put much pressure at all on the coat, it's a sort of bicycle motion.  If you go to the actual Les Poochs site there is a very short video there.  (Of course  as I write this I'm probably putting a hex on it and will wake up tomorrow to a mat fest! ; )

I had the puppy les pooch brush. It was great til she got her adult fur. Then I started to use a regular slicker. it would take me hours and hours to brush Cooper. Now with the purple brush it takes me half an hour. Both Cooper and I are much happier!

DH thought I was crazy spending my Xmas money on a brush for the dog, but after he used it, he can see why I wanted one!

I still use my yellow one for some adult coats and also tender bellies.

I now use the double purple on Calla since she is bigger and has the thickest coat.On Luca I use the single green.

WOW!  The Les Pooch brushes are worth every penney I paid for them.  In less than 20 minutes, I was able to brush Max more thoroughly than ever before!  I am amazed at how well they work through the mats and leave his coat so soft.  He really seems to enjoy the brushes.  I think every doodle sold should come with a Les Pooch brush!! I went out to Amazon and looked -- those brushes look much the same as the Les Pooch brush...... have to wonder if they work as well.  At those prices, might be worth a try.

I've had my Les Pooch for 4 years. I love it. I use it constantly on Koji - and in addition I pet sit - and use it on the pups that come to visit - I try to give them a good brushing before they go home.  I groom Koji myself most of the time - and it is my number one 'go to' tool. Second is my comb. I have also recommended the Les Pooch to many of my clients and also groomer friends and they all love it. I did buy about a dozen at one time and being a dog professional received a discount, but it does mean you have to lay out the money - and then get it to all the folks who want the brush. So now I let folks get their own :)

I just received my Les Poochs brush today and I can't wait to brush Louie. Thanks for the pictures and description of how to use the brush...it seems daunting! There are a few videos on YouTube that cover the body brush technique you might look at but...they are not in English...but video is very clear.

Kemp also helped me to decide which brush was the right one for Louie. I like the fact that he is "one of us" and supporting his business is like shopping locally. He has sales of free shipping at times and ...I found a coupon code for $10 off.

I think one or two people may have tried this with bad outcomes. I would advise against it. There is no rush to bathe your pup unless it's really needed but you should get the puppy used to being touched on it's paws, ears, basically all over.
