Some of you know that Murph was a very naughty boy on our walk yesterday....lots of reactiveness after a one month "hiatus" from these behaviors.  Since we got home yesterday, he's been avoiding me like the plague.  He's steering clear of Mom.....no coming over for cuddles or following me around the house....he even hangs his head when I look at him.

This reminds me of my "other guys" in the house.  My DH and DS refer to it as being "in the dog house".  They know when I'm upset with them, and they just lay low waiting for me to get over it.  It usually takes a day or two of them being on their best behavior, and then I forgive and forget.  I think its' so funny that Murph is following their lead.  I thought this morning he'd forget....but no, he's still staying away from Mom.

So, I'm wondering....do your Doodles know when you're mad at them?  What do they do?

Both my doodles know when I am mad at them, Ollie is very sensive and gives me puppy eyes that say "I'm sorry Mom", he gets very quiet.  But my smarty-pants Sasha knows she's done wrong but has a look on her face that says "oh she will get over it, I will just lay low for a while"... LOL

Oh yes when Snicks is bad we "send him to his room" which means he goes to his crate and lays in it with the door open. He usually has his head half in and half out the crate and lays it on his paws and looks very forlorn. From time to time he let's out a huge sigh. Then we release him after a few minutes and he has to make up with its by sitting and giving his paw to shake.

Ruby puts herself in timeout hahahaha. She walk to her bed and we call it her 'walk of shame'. She even runs there when she grabs something she know she is not supposed to have. If she runs to her bed, it is a dead give away that she has a sock, or a dish towel. :)

Yes Quincy knows when he's been naughty, he would put himself in a timeout until I took his crate away. He also tries to do the doodle suck up by putting his head on your knee and giving you those puppy dog eyes.

LOL....Putting himself in "time out".   I'll bet those puppy dog eyes get you every time Donna.

Until Zach gets put into time out in the xpen he is oblivious to being "in trouble" regardless of how many times he has been corrected or how frustrated I get with him (of course - I work to not let my frustration show - ha!). He is always very kissy when he gets out of the pen - so I think he makes a connection to needing to make it right.

JD is rarely in the dog house, but he is keenly aware of it when he is. He will usually keep his distance but smiles at me a lot with a very ingratiating grin that's impossible to resist.

Oh, MY doodles KNOW when I am mad at them - perhaps it is because I yell and say nasty things about sending them to the shoe factory or such things???

I know you are going to find this hard to believe but Daisy NEVER does anything wrong...I am sitting here trying to think if she ever was a naughty girl and really not - she apparently is perfect!

:0)

Now if you want to include things like what she does when she is scared I can tell you that on Saturday the Goodyear Blimp went over us and she was terrified, she drug me all the way home and nothing I did would stop her...when we got home she took cover in the garage and barked looking up and around the garage wall. Poor Baby. I don't see how I would ever be able to reassure her on that one. It's loud and in her mind way too big to stay in the sky and NOT fall on us.

Speaking of doggies in the dog house:  I just got these pics in an email from a dog-loving friend.  Notice, they're NOT doodles.

oh my!. love the dog training for dummies book all ripped up!

Yes, very funny. Apparently not a good read for dogs.
