Help! Cupcake Thief!

Hello Everyone,

 

I'm not sure if I should be concerned but today Dexter decided he'd jump onto the counter, pull back the foil covering the pan, and steal at least 3 or 4 cupcakes and devour them all.  They were vanilla with buttercream frosting (no chocolate) but there was a ton of icing on there.  Should I be worried at all?  Should I skip feeding him dinner this evening because he ate so many??

He should be okay.  It won't hurt him to eat dinner, though.  See how hungry he is.

I have no experience with a cupcake-eating doodle, but Sedona did steal a maple scone once with no adverse effects!  Hope all turns out fine for Dexter.

Thanks for the advice everyone.  I hate having to go back to work when something like this happens instead of being able to keep an eye on him!

He is the cutest cupcake thief I have ever seen. I don't blame him for stealing cupcakes. I think he will be fine and I would still offer him his dinner.

Is he using that blankie to wipe off the evidence? No way that face could "steal" procure maybe.

I would still feed him...if his belly is upset he won't eat, I am sure he will be fine.

I had a friend whose dog ate 12 blueberry muffins with no ill effects. Ah, Dexter, those cupcakes were just too inviting. Dood you don't need all that extra sugar, you are already sweet enough. :>)

There is no way that a face like that could be a cupcake thief, lol, maybe he just wanted a taste, and when he saw how good it was, he had a few to make sure he had his fill....I am not sure, but I know tht Oliver once ate a box of vanilla wafer cookies, and he was fine, hope Dexter is fine too.  I would offer dinner, if he doesn't want it, then just take it away...He is such a cute doodle, what a face....

No, Dexter didn't do it!  He's much too innocent looking to have jumped up on the counter and gotten cupcakes.  It must have been a burglar.

Duncan has never stolen any sweets but i can't vouch for myself if i was in your kitchen. HAHA! Hey I live in Staten Island too! Duncan and i spend time at Wolfe's Pond Park and Bloomingdale park a lot but every so often we'll make our way to clove or silver lake park when we can.

You'll have to let me know the next time you're headed to the park!  Maybe the doodles can meet up some weekend.  We usually take him to Silver Lake since we're closest to that but we wouldn't mind trying somewhere new.
