Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Our little girl has been with us for a year. We just discovered that she has Diabetes and since we have two small active children and we both work I just don't think we will be able to give her the care she would need. She is black and white. She is 30 LBS. I have one month of medication and food I could give. She cost us $1000 but I would be willing to give her to a good home for free. We live in Suwanee GA, Just north of Atlanta.
Please let me know if you would like to know more about her.
Thank you,
Jack

Amen, Sherri, I feel the same way.
Hi Jack,
Regardless if this is a AussieDoodle or not, you both need help. An idea might be to contact organizations locally.
Tell them you can keep the dog until a quality home is found. Most organizations will help but a lot are out of room and need fosters. But if you are willing to be patient I think this can be worked out. Many people search rescues daily wanting to adopt a rescue. They may be able to post for you on Petfinders.com. Hope all this helps. I know it will.
I am sure someone can help you and help this beautiful dog.
Here are a few I found doing a simple search with the location you provided.
WOW Joanne and this is what I am talking about...steering in the right direction.
Goodness, Joanne, what a list! Jack now has every number he could possibly need!
Jack,
One word of caution; some on this list are KILL SHELTERS. Please do not drop the dog off with them. Do your research, call them in advance, and see " what they can do for you and the dog" first. Thanks
I'm going to guess that since this new member has not responded to a single post from the almost 30 posted, that something else is going on here. I agree with the response I read about new members who join with the sole purpose of getting rid of or even selling their dogs. If this dog was really a rescue, it would most likely be taken back by that organization.
Amen to that.
I just logged on and saw that he has posted on the main page. Maybe since he is new, he doesn't know how to respond.
Why do so many people, who supposedly love their dogs, dump them at the first sign of trouble? Would they dump their kids too? No, they would make any changes in their life that were needed. They wouldn't say, you are now an inconvenience you have to go. When you get a dog for whatever reason, that commitment is for life. Dogs are not disposable. I sincerly hope this dog finds a home with someone that will really love it.
I would have a lot more respect for this person if they were looking for advice and solutions in how to deal with a dog with diabetes, instead of throwing them away like a broken piece of furniture. They "just discovered" this so they haven't even given it a chance.
Bless you, Donna.
I am sorry to say this, but we don't seem like a very open, friendly group when we jump on every person that comes here for help with a Doodle (we should take their word for it) that they can no longer care for. These people could just drop them off at shelters, but are looking for alternatives and we are basically shutting them down with our comments. I know it is frustrating to see these posts, but it is also an opportunity to let someone know about the Organizations that could help them, or there might, just by chance be someone among us, willing to step up at any given moment. It is the dog that matters here. Just my humble opinion, not meant to stir up any controversy.
