Cleaning up the neighbor's dog poo...

I'd finally had enough this morning. My next door neighbor has an Italian mastiff and a variety of other large dogs visit there, or maybe live there. I'm not even sure how many PEOPLE live in that house! Anyhow, their dog or dogs are just let out the front door to take care of business wherever they want, which appears to be mostly in my yard. After I'd used a leaf blower this morning to pile up leaves from the front yard, I couldn't believe how many huge piles of dog poo were out there! Trav has his fenced spot in the back and is only on leash in the front, so I knew none of it was his. I bagged it all up, a gross task, though it appears the dog(s) do have a decent diet. Heh, heh--can't help but make that assessment. I've also run the mower through some of those piles--another yuk experience. So this morning I knocked on their door, apparently woke the girl up, and politely asked if they could direct their dog(s) to their own yard when it was time to take care of business. Such surprise and amazement! They had no idea their dog(s) were messing in my yard. Uhhhhh....right. Anyhow, I've been assured that they'll watch the dogs in the future.

And that's my rant for the morning.

I have a grass strip along the street, outside the fence. I keep it mowed and do some pruning etc. there. So when poop started appearing there I put out a polite sign asking people to pick up after their dogs since I garden there. It worked. Here's the sign from my childhood park. I always loved the sentiment.

Very classy, F. I am so glad that it worked. I guess some of us live in less 'genteel' neighborhoods and one needs a two-by-four to get the dog owner's attention.

i had the same problem as well everyday and my neighbor has 4 dogs and i do not get it much now but i took a spade of the dogs poo and threw it in there yard near there door for a while then i would also talked to my husband really loud out on the deck so they could hear it saying i would call the dog officer if i kept seeing there dog in my yard i feel bad for the dog cause its not the dogs fault its just the owners suck ... i do not get any more cause they finally fenced in there yard .....besides the poo i also get the noise from them partying a couple of times a week :( :( there is hope... good luck
