Dear Diary,
Today was the best day ever and it isn't even over yet! My mom was supposed to go away today, but her plans got cancelled. Luckily, she had already planned for our dog sitter to take us today and so at 10:00 am, our dog sitter showed up to take us to her house. I think my mom has been feeling guilty lately, since she takes Vern to a Saturday class and yesterday took him to another dumb class. I had to stay home by myself. When our dog sitter showed up, she had her dog in the car. He is a big Doberman named Ajax and one of Vern's and my best friends in the whole wide world. We got to play in our yard for awhile and then Ajax came in the house and started eating our food. He got in trouble with his mom.
Anyway, when it came time for us to get in the car, mom told our dog sitter that I got to decide what I wanted to do today. Sometimes, I just like to stay home with mom, but Vern always wants to go with our dog sitter. He loves her and mom said Vern can be a traitor sometimes, but then she laughed. Well, I went over and sat by our dog sitter because she gives good head scratches, but when she said, "OK Fudge, hop in the car," I went over and sat by my mom. That made mom smile real big and she said, "Fudge, I always know you love me best." Guess what happened next? I got to stay home without Vern and when they pulled out of the driveway, mom said I was doing a happy dance.
As soon as they left, mom said to me that today was National Fudge Day and we were going to have some fun. First, I took a nap, though, because I love naps and Vern is always waking me up with his cold nose. After my nap, we went to the park and I got to smell in all the groundhog holes and Vern did not push me out of the way. I got to see geese and walk on the boat ramp. Next, we went to the ATM and mom went through the Dunkin' Donut drive thru and got a bagel. I don't eat people food, but it smelled really good.
I am going to take another nap now, before my brother gets home and then mom said we can go out and play ball when I get up. I LOVE National Fudge Day!!!
Here I am waiting in the car for the fun to start:
It was really windy today and even rained and hailed a little. I don't know what I was doing in this picture, but maybe I was shaking off the rain that just started.
I was trying to figure out how to catch these two geese, but mom wouldn't put my leash down.
This is our pretty lake, but I didn't want to look at the camera, because I was watching for squirrels.
I hope everyone gets to eat a piece of delicious Fudge on my National Fudge Day!
