Update....I met with the cardiac surgeon today. I am set to have the hole in my heart closed for Tuesday. I could not get an appointment before then because he is booked soild. It is a pretty simple procedure or so they are hoping. One of the big concerns in part of the procedure would involve upsetting my airways, so they are going to have an anesthisologist standing by in case they need him.
I talked extensively with him and he wanted me to understand perfectly clear that this is not going to cure me or fix me, it will just make it a bit easier for me to breathe.... I will be admitted Tuesday morning, and spend at least one night in the hospital, depending on how I amd doing. The earliest I can fly home is the following Saturday but I won't know if I am cleared to fly until my follow up up on Friday.
They are also working me up for a procedure called a Nissen wrap, which is also a minor surgery that will help block reflux from getting into my lungs and maybe, just maybe settle my nasty airway down. So I am going to be here another nine days at least... and then home sweet home.
I won't be able to have any more surgeries for a while becuase I will be on blood thinners... so I will cancel the hysterectomy I had scheduled.
Anyway.... Jarka and my second favorite doodle in the world Monty came to visit me today. Jarka will have to add pictures if she can. We went to the dog park.. it was so nice to be out like a real human being, sitting and soaking up some sunshine.
I have been fighting, my nurses and doctors have been fighting for two week for approval from my insrurance of a medication I really need.. Please pray the goverment will butt out the decision of what a doctor and a proven effective medication that will help me. I can't believe Medicare sucks so badly that they can just say NO.. Butt heads is what I have to say tot hem.. and we continue are fight.
anyway, Jarka is so sweet, and I even spoke to her husband today and he was such a sweet heart too.
I am so blessed to not have to be here feeling alone.. So appreciate. Nine days and counting till I can hold my baby boy again.

Happy that they are able to do the procedure before they send you home. At this point I'm sure you will take any improvement in your breathing! Hang in there and get lots of rest because you are going to need it when you get back home to Jack. You will need lots of energy to handle all those doodle kisses he is storing up for you! Hugs.
Prayers continue for you. Glad you were able to get out and sit in some sun with Monty by your side. Jarka and Monty sound like gems. I am so touched by the warmness of the DK "family."
Jennifer, I'm so glad to hear this update. I am hoping that both surgeries go well for you. And that the approval on the medication comes through quickly! How ridiculous that the approval is taking so long!
Also, this is pretty superficial, but I just wanted to say how great you look! You look happy and beautiful, and you have on such a cute outfit! No one would ever know you're out there to receive serious medical treatment. And, I've always had a weak spot for flats with bows on the toes! *^_^*
Lots and lots of good wishes coming your way!
I've been following all of your updates and I just wanted to say that I'm thinking of you often and I hope all goes well. Thanks for keeping us updated. Darwin send doodle love your way. :-)
That's great Jennifer, one more obstacle removed.
OMD! That is such great news!
Jennifer,
You are a beautiful woman, both inside and out! It looks like you are liking the big doodles. Maybe Jack will get a BIG brother someday. Ya never know! I sure hope that everything goes well for you.
