Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I am making this a discussion rather than a blog so I can add information and pictures in a few days.

We are fostering beautiful Bailey, an 11-month old goldendoodle, for doodlerescuecollectiveinc.org.  Her furever parents are coming Thursday to pick her up and bring her to her new home.

Although that is exciting; this in itself would not be any kind of news.  Doodles are frequently finding furever homes through the assistance of Doodle Rescue Collective Inc.  What makes this special for Judy and I is that Bailey's new parents have another doodle, Hailey.  Hailey was born at Cheyenne Valley Labradoodles and Goldendoodles in Texas.  Holly was born there and Holly and Hailey share the same dad, Rocky, a standard poodle.

We are very anxious to meet two year old Hailey and see her next to our four and a half year old Holly. I want to shoot pictures of the two girls and share them with you.

BTW:  we'd love to meet other owners of Cheyenne Valley Labradoodles and Goldendoodles.

What a great story, and what a wonderful new life for Bailey! Thanks for helping her find her new family, Richard, you and Judy are the best!

Awww, yay!!! I love a happy ending!!! :-)

What a great happy ending for a beautiful Doodle. My daughter's name is Hayley and I call her Hayley Bayley all the time :) Thank you for helping another dog find a furever home.

Well, Bailey and her new family are driving up to Northern California today and Judy is driving up to Los Angeles tomorrow to rescue a Maltese from an L.A. shelter.  This gal is pregnant and one of our volunteers is picking her up from the shelter and will have her examined by a vet and have an ultrasound to see how many pups she is carrying and perhaps give us an idea of when she is due. She will whelp her litter at our home in warm, clean and loving surroundings.  That always makes us feel good!

Holly will be happy because she can be Auntie Holly again to another litter of pups.

Richard, when you and Judy get to the Rainbow Bridge, there is going to be a very big crowd of grateful dogs waiting to greet you!

Bailey and Hailey and their parents Sydney and Tom arrived safely in Northern California.

Judy picked up Kayla, our pregnant Maltese foster, from Los Angeles.  What a darling baby she is but, she's as big as a house.  Five puppies are a big litter for a Maltese. (I hope she had good taste in lovers).  Usually one to three puppies are the norm.  Anyway, all our dogs have met her and they are getting along well.

We are going to do a video on Kayla and her brood.  I will shoot the video down here and send it up to our friend in Los Angeles to put together into a YouTube video.

OMD, five puppies? You and Judy are really going to have your hands full! When are they due?

The pups are due any time now.  Kayla's temperature has not dipped (usually a prelude to giving birth) and she is eating just fine.  We probably won't have puppies tonight but, anytime now.

Two years ago we had several litters of rescue puppies in our home at one time.  We love pupppies and absolutely love to see out Holly interacting with the puppies as "Auntie Holly".

I can't count how many litters of puppies we had here at our home in total.  However, the moms and their pups are in good hands.  Judy taught nursing and one of her specialties was labor and delivery.

Heck, I delivered one litter of pups alone.  That was scary, the first time. I prefer for Judy to be the delivery nurse but, I can do it when pressed into service.

That is so neat.  I'm so glad she found a great furever home!  I loved your pictures of the happy meeting!  Great pictures!

Kayla's puppies have arrived and we can't tell what breed that the father was.  They are various shades of brown and black puppies.  It is easier to place puppies who look like Mlatese but, we will find them homes. They seem healthy. the first guy was black with white paws.  He might be cute when he gets older.  He is a husky little guy she had a time delivering him but, he finally popped out O.K.

We all would love to see pictures when you have a moment, which is of course never in your home.

I second the pictures when you can.  Perhaps as the pups get a bit bigger, you will have a better idea as to their parentage - although I know you will find awesome homes for them regardless.
