I'm worried about Jennifer and Jack

As you know Jennifer is away from her family and in hospital (s) and I follow her updates on Facebook.  As she is a nurse she gives lots of details of her procedures and progress but this evening her post is worrying me.  The operation to close the hole in her heart is being reviewed because of some deep seated infection she has and there is now talk of open heart surgery or the risk of sepsis.  She has finally told her family whom she was shielding from the seriousness of the situation. She has a constant fever and seems very tired.  Her Dad and his wife are arriving in a few days and she wants her Mom to stay home minding Jack.  I just feel so worried and more than a little helpless here in Ireland.  I believe in the power of prayer even though I am far from religious so  am asking all of us here to take a few moments and say a prayer for Jennifer, please.

Yesterday's late afternoon post sounded pretty positive - hopeful that the blood cultures would come back negative and that she could avoid having to have the closure device removed and re-repaired through open heart surgery.  I logged on this morning hoping to see a report on the cultures.  Like Donna, I'm hoping that no news is good news, but it worries me that she's been absent from DK today.  I, too, wish there was a way that Jennifer's mother could be with her.  I can't imagine having a daughter so gravely ill and not being by her side every step of the way.

Deanna, My mother's heart is breaking for Jenn's mom. I cannot imagine being so far away during such a crisis. I know she is honoring Jennifer's wishes, but it must be terribly hard.

I was hoping that she would have posted today, but like the others, I was hoping that no news was good news, but.....I am worrried, isn't Jenn very friendly wiith her vet?  I believe she even made house calls for Jenn, when she was worried about Jack.  Would someone know if the vet could take care of the dogs, so that her Mom could fly out to be there with her? Or are there other friends in the area that could take the dogs?...She so needs her Mom now, I wonder if it is possible to ask her Mom if she knows any of Jenn's friends that could help out, or maybe contact her vet and see if she can do something?..Just a thought....I know that the power of prayer can help, and I will add mine to all the others for her right now....

Thank you, Nicky for the post.  I am so worried about Jennifer too.  She is such a good person & I hate to see her suffer like this.  This news doesn't sound good at all.  If I were her, honestly, I'd want my mom with me.  Maybe someone else could care for Jack while her mom goes to her.  She needs all the support she can get right now.  It really sounds like she is fighting for her life.

Oh Dear I will go to mass in the morning and speak with the prayer group. I will have her name added to our list. I wish there was something we could do so her mom could be with her!!

Jennifer is in my prayers always..tonight there will be a special prayer. I believe God is working overtime trying to keep our Jennifer safe.

I too wish Jen's Mom could be there with her, I am glad her Dad is going. Perhaps there can be a changing of the guards as far as Molly and Jack goes when he comes home.

Oh, this is a worry.  Jenn is in my thoughts and prayers every day, and I know she had such high hopes for this trip going well and quickly.  Sure wish she could have Jack with her.  Prayers continue...

I am joining all of you in prayers of healing for Jennifer and prayers of wisdom and and discernment for all of those involved in her care.  The power of prayer is a remarkable thing especially in a situation such as this when one feels so helpless. He hears every one of them.  Jennifer is a remarkable woman and has touched so many lives on this forum with her strength and courage.
