Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi All,
I have been on this site for a year and a half. I have gotten some great advise and made some nice friends. I have gotten great grooming tips, food advice, lots of laughs and a few tears. However, I have noticed recently when people ask questions, there is a tendency to be a little forceful with answers. A lot of people are asking questions or looking for solutions for real problems....aggressive dogs, food issues, re-homing issues...and instead of lending a sympathetic ear and helpful advice, there seems to be some quick responses with judging comments. Often times I feel sorry for the person asking the question, and some of the answers are mean-spirited. Some are very helpful.
Sometimes people don't see previous posts. When someone re-posts something, or asks a question, again...the poster is not doing it to be a pain...maybe they just didn't see the original post.
I like this site. I like knowing peoples stories, and their pups.
I hope that this post can make people think twice before they post an answer to a post, where the poster is seeking advice. The advice might be something that the poster does not like, but it can be stated in a kinder way.
For example, I am really nervous that people are going to react harshly to this post.

Whoa now! Let's not be hasty handing out these Hokum's to Ricki.
No worries.
Pat you stay out of this you troublemaker!
I'm rolling my eyes. I'm sure there was more to it than that though. that was just the lame-o excuse to get the puppy of their hands.
Could have been kids- teenagers- who got a puppy and the parents won't let them keep it. Who knows. They sell puppies in parking lots and roadside stands in some parts of the country.
I suppose there is the most remote possibility that they were just ignorant and not evil.
nope. definitely evil. F, you're either with us or against us. ;-)
Sorry, at my age I am an independent gal : ) When I first was being devoured by Luca I wondered what I had done. But I read and got some ideas, ending up with a trainer and then DK.
F, I love how you just sort of swoop in and throw us off balance. We were so content to demonize those people and then you just throw in a line of reason takes the wind out of the sails. I guess proving Pam's point to a certain extent.
Calling them "ignorant" instead of evil isn't exactly a compliment, either, though. I doubt that being called ignorant would be considered "nice" in a forum response, lol. In fact, I think I'd prefer to be called evil.
Not me. There are a few things I don't know : ) After all ignorance is not necessarily indicative of stupidity. I prefer though to think of myself as not being evil.
As an aside, I skipped 8th grade, many of us did back in the day in NYC. So when my kids accuse me of not having read something etc. I tell them it was probably taught in 8th grade. GOK what I missed.
Evil is so much sexier, though. ;)
(Kidding, I'm kidding.)
