So I had to check. These moths are called humming or Hummingbird Moths. And they have a whole website of course. There's even a cute video.

I just happened to see this comment on the main page. I love hummingbird moths! They are frequent visitors to my perennial bed. Unlike hummingbirds, they're easy to photograph, as they're slower and don't scare easily. And they have beautiful coloring.

I love all the pics and am more than a little jealous, we are nowhere near this stage yet. I haven't been able to comment because my computer has been giving me issues. I manage to get a comment in here and there and then my computer freezes. I will have to recycle some pics from previous years if my computer will let me.
