After a loooonnnggg day of hospital stuff for DH to have surgery for a heel spur removal, we arrived home. Of course everything was a priority to get done. Get him inside, on the recliner, get him food, drink, pills, pillows, laptop (we were waiting on some important emails) Monty had not been out for many hours. Gawd knows I was ready for a glass of wine but that would have to wait. So I scurried around getting all the stuff, wondering where did Monty go, been too long. Went outside again to discover a chipmunk swimming for his life in Monty's baby pool.
Just a few days ago I discovered the chipmunks had found a way into my new garden that had been carefully fenced in. The darn chipmunk that I found there had been digging up my newly planted peas. :( Ok,,,,,,,,,,,,GAME ON!
I put some moth balls around, dried blood and hoped I could find other ways to deter these little bast****.
I digress. The discovery of a chipmunk swimming and swimming around the baby pool was terrible. Monty was doing his best to play with his new friend....like pushing him under water, pawing at him over and over. I finally got a broom and took the barely breathing thing and placed him on the other side of the deer fencing. I had to go inside and take care of DH. I came back out sometime later to find that Monty had dug under the fence to drag that poor thing back. :( Now understand I hate what the chipmunks put me thru, we are overrun with them. But jeez. The poor critter was still struggling when I had to move him far far away. SIGH. It has been a long day at my house, how about you?
btw, the wine glass is full, DH is successfully drugged and sleeping, I think I will call it a day!
Its been a long 24 hours, thanks for the well wishes for DH. He is having a rough time of it, and I have to give him credit because he is not a baby about aches and pains. Medication, lots of medication. :)
An additional note. Today I went up to get the mail and was disturbed to see a very nice deer dead beside the mailbox. :( I called our the transportation dept, hopefully they will get here today and cart it away. All these dead things, started to feel like F and her yard forays!

The slaughterhouses probably sell it.
Jane needs to share her wine with you!
Ummmm - what wine? ;)
HIC..... I don't know, Jane.
This is just too funny! The only thing is - next time - when you have a million things on your plate - could you also snap a couple of photos?! LOL Kidding!
Ok..dried blood?!?!?!?!?!
You purchase the blood in the garden stores. Comes in a bag usually. She did not take the blood from his surgery and pour it on the plant :)
It's a garden thing LOL
You can buy dried blood or dried urine from predatory animals to use in your garden to keep rabbits, chipmunks, etc. away.
Why do those chippys like the swimming pool? Same here. And, I do not think they can swim because I have found them dead in the pool. Egh. Yuck. Go Fish.
Tell your husband I am thinking of him. I have Spurs also and it is debilitating. I'm thinking of him.
chippy did not like the pool he could not get out. :(
Cheers !!!!! Wine always makes things better - It is my drug of choice :)
