Who Are You?

Since I have been a member on DK, I have learned so much useful information and a lot about members’ dogs.  I know about the illnesses that afflict some DK doodles.  I know which dogs are picky eaters and which ones have poop issues or behavior problems.  But it dawned on me, that with a few exceptions, I don’t really know much about the humans of DK.    Many of us recently stepped out of our comfort zones to post pictures of ourselves on our profiles, but there is no lasting record of that.  I know that DK members are compassionate people that are truly invested in the lives of their doodles, but what makes you tic?  Who are you when you have to step away from DK and enter the real world (the horror!!)?  So I challenge you to give us a little info about the person behind the dog.

Name: Amy

Location: Dyer, IN (35 minutes outside of Chicago)

Birth Order: Oldest of 3 kids – the only girl

Family: Husband, no kids

Education: Purdue and DePaul

Occupation: CPA – I work as a tax analyst for a Steel Mill.  I hope to work as a Business Officer for a Public School in the near future; I want to feel like my job actually matters.

Biggest Fear:  I have a phobia of grasshoppers.  Yes, I know they don’t bite or anything but they just really freak me out.  They blend into their surroundings and when you least expect it they jump/fly around…yuck

General: super organized, sometimes impatient, a planner – not a spur of the moment type of person, shy – I much prefer to sit back and take it all in rather than be the center of attention, obsessed with details, cautious (I was going to list the craziest thing I had ever done, but then I couldn’t come up with anything so I had to leave it out!), and incredibly sarcastic – but I swear, I am NOT as boring as I sound!!

If I could have any pet (that isn’t a doodle), I would love to have:  A big fat penguin – one of those cute cartoony looking ones. 

Addiction: A new yogurt place recently opened here (called Red Mango).  You go in and fill up a cup with as much or as little yogurt/soft serve ice cream as you want and then you can top it with all kinds of great toppings (candy, cookies, fruit, choc syrup, etc).  I have become an addict, especially now that it has gotten warm outside.  I go there at least once a week, and I’m sure it will get worse before it gets better.

Guilty Pleasure TV Show: Sister Wives -- I have no idea how I got started watching it, but now I am hooked.

We are about the same age!  I am 21.  I assume people here thought I would be older too :)  By the sounds of things we have quite a bit in common!

I am originally from Provo UT so I know about those big families with 8 kids! LOL.I havent lived in UT for 23 years, but my parents live in St George so living here in Las Vegas we are able to see them more now.

I miss the fall in UT, so pretty there!

Name: Elizabeth nickname Bizzy...my dad used to call me his busy little bee so it stuck!  and I still go by it today...And I love it!!

Location: Jacksonville, Florida Lived here all my life except for a 6 year time frame in central MA.  Live across the street from my mom...She lives in the house where I grew up

Generation: Boomer 

Birth Order: 2 older sisters and a younger brother.  

Family: Married to my DH for 29 years and 1 son, he's 24 

Education: AS in Nursing

Occupation: Labor and Delivery nurse...It's my dream job!!!

Biggest Fear: SNAKES

General: I am a scrapbooker and card maker.  Love all types of crafts really!  I am a "glass is half full" kind of girl.  I am a girlie girl, if it sparkles or has glitter I LOVE IT!!  One day I want to travel to Germany to finish tracing my family tree. 

If I could have any pet (that isn’t a doodle), I would love to have:  A lion...that wouldn't look at me like I was dinner...

Addiction: Anything Tim Holtz. For those of you who do not know who he is.  He is a popular designer in the paper craft world... Paper Craft magazines and rubber stamps...

Random Useless Fact About Me: I have worked night shift  7PM to 7AM for 8 years.  I have delivered 8 babies without a MD being present. I LOVE Bon Jovi.  I was a Cub Scout leader for 6 years.  I would love to be on The Amazing Race with my sister Elaine.  When I turn 50 (in 2 years) I am going to tandom sky dive...

Don't wait!  You can tandom skydive now and do a freefall on your 50th birthday.  That is even more exciting!

Have you seen that ad about cell phones where the mother is sending a check to the bank and then she wants to photograph a lion in the park.  Her daughter says, "No, No Mom" and then you see the lion walking into the bank and laying his head on the counter.  He is so cute.

I only did it once, but we had to have three successful static-line jumps first.  So I got them and then made the freefall.  My first time out of the airplane, I just jumped off screaming with my eyes closed.  But that is what you have a static line for.

I think we are exactly the same age..and I love Bon Jovi also! Not sure about the skydiving at 50. I want to own my own Harley Davidson Motorcycle to ride by age 50!
