Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi everyone. I rescued Winston about a year ago, and we were told he was either a goldendoodle or a labradoodle. Is it possible to tell what type of doodle he is by looking at his physical appearance? What type of doodle do you think he is? Is he even a doodle (some people think he is a wheaten terrier)?
Here's some information that may help:
1. He is ultra cream with apricot parti spots.
2. His fur is a mixture of straight, wavy, and curly.
3. He sheds a little.
4. He gets strong body odor within a week of being bathed.
5. He is 40 pounds, full grown.
6. He has a stocky, square appearance, with a flat and wide head.
7. He has dark brown eyes (with crazy long apricot lashes) and a rose colored nose.
8. He is a goof ball and loves to snuggle with cats.
After looking online at hundreds of pictures, I feel that he could either be an Australian Labradoodle or a English-type Goldendoodle, based on the stockiness of his body.
I've attached a few photos, which you can also find in my photo gallery in my profile. Thank you!

Does Winston have webbed feet? Wheatons do not. Labs, Goldens, and poodles all do. This may help you narrow it down... Whatever he is, he is very cute :)
That's BRILLIANT. I just checked and YES he does have webbed feet!!!! So he's definitely not a Wheaton, and definitely a doodle!
Mystery solved! He is super cute :) I had a turtle named Winston as a kid. haha. I love that name.
I never knew this *runs over to dog to check her feet.....
Wow--he certainly is interesting and cute too--but there are so many possible mixed breeds, it is really impossible to say. My neighbors Goldendoodle looks just like my Labradoodle and I have also seen hundreds of different looks on either a goldendoodle or a labradoodle--they can all be so different!
I did have a wheaton and he did leave little dust balls of fur around so he did shed a bit-and there are "whoodles" --Wheaton crossed with a poodle--so maybe that is it? You will never really know--unless you want to spend some $$ on a DNA test!
Just saw the thing about the webbed feet--I don't think any of my doodles have webbed feet--but I will look more closely!
Wheaten-Poodle crosses don't shed at all, and they have extremely dense coats. Nightmares to groom.
I've seen a number of whoodles, and your Winston looks nothing like one. His fur is too fluffy. I'm leaning toward ALD.
I m going with adoradoodle. There has to be poodle in there for the long eyelashes. The webbed feet probably from labrador retreiver as that is a breed characteristic. My two ALDs are full brothers and have quite different body types. The stated desirable body type of ALD is square. So statistically probably and lab/poodle mix. Definitely an adoradoodle though. Love that word.
